thanx for posting/sharing. Im glad to see that the younger kids will actually get to see mickey & friends on a new tv series. havent seen much of him since the animated 3 musketeers flick.

"Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" to Debut on May 5

A press release from the Walt Disney Company has announced that "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" will debut on Friday, May 5. The show will be "the first Mickey Mouse series created specifically for preschoolers," and will also be the first TV show to use CGI to animate Disney's "Sensational Six" (Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, and Daisy and Donald Duck). It will combine entertainment with early-learning fundamentals, using an interactive approach to get preschoolers to play games, solve puzzles, and talk to their TVs.

The premiere episode is scheduled for Friday, May 5 at 7:30 PM (ET/PT) on the Disney Channel. It's regular timeslot will be on Saturdays at 9:00 AM (ET/PT) during the Playhouse Disney programming block, beginning on May 6.

Will see what happens if I can watch this new show tomorrow. This show is sorta like a Disney version of "Sesame Street".

talking to TVs = important life skill

Despite it being part of the "Blue's Clues" genre, I'm curious to see what it looks like. Although I probably won't watch it. Maybe clips online but it sounds like it could really benefit the preschool crowd....they even went with Mickey's look in the 40's...that's something.

Hmmm...sounds like Dora the Explorer.

It is also premiering here in Australia on Playhouse Disney on May 06. My 6 year old Daughter is eagerly awaiting it.... It will be interesting too see what the quality is like.

I most probably will not be watching it. If it's intended for preschoolers, preschoolers should watch it. And any other other children that like it. But, sorry Disney, I won't be watching.

i did watch it. it's cute. reminds me alot of blues clues/sesame street/dora
very cute. even has chip n dale in the show- i heart them!

I was actually so bored that I watched the last half of it. Even though it ended like 6 minutes before the next show came on.

We found Baby Sheep by using the flashlight. Baby Sheep was in the closet. Then everyone dances See you next time at Mickey's Clubhouse!

My whole family watched the show tonight....me, wife, sons 2 1/2 and 4 months. We all loved it! It was very cute, and very well done.

It was easy and simple for little guys to get, and it just had it's heart in the right place. The animation was good. They didn't try and render it all realistic, it's very cartoony and they did a much better job animating the classic characters then they did in Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas. Mickey's ears are flat circles again.

It didn't try or pretend to be anything more than simple little games for very young children to play along with. Plus it makes Mickey and the gang relevant to a whole new generation of kids! YEAH!!!!!

I watched "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" last night since it first came on. This show was kinda preschoolish. It reminds me of "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood", "Sesame Street", "Dora the Explorer" and others. This show is the first time that features all the classic characters done in CGI. It looks alot like "Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas". The first episode was "Daisy Bo-Peep" based on the Mother Goose nursury rhyme, "Little Bo-Peep". It was about Mickey and one his pals are trying to find their sheep until it reaches 10. I know that on the entire show, Mickey Mouse is a host for the show, reminds me of the teacher at kindergarden. The opening theme song was not really good. They used references from the "Mickey Mouse Club" and some other stuff. It feature Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto. By the way, I love Pluto a lot, he's cute. I've seen it all, but I cannot watch it again. I'm too old for that show, if I don't like it, I'll stick with the old cartoons or watch my "Complete Pluto DVD" or "Best Pals: Mickey and Pluto" DVD. That might be good.

I watched the show this morning (a 19 year-old male watching a preschool show right when he wakes up on a Saturday morning...What does that say about my life?). I actually found the show to be very very cute. The biggest thing that struck me about the show was how timeless it was. It wasn't trying to be hip or modern at all, but rather it was staying true to the essence of the characters. Heck, the theme song uses the phrase "Hot Diggity Dog" which is straight out of the 40s era. The CGI was very pleasing, as well. They finally managed to render Mickey in CGI in a way that finally captures his cuteness (Mickey in Twice Upon A Christmas and in that little Disney Channel interstitial looks odd and kind of cold). Everyone was in their classic garb rather than modern clothing, which I greatly appreciated. I'm hoping this show really does well and catches on with kids. With all of the original stuff on Playhouse Disney, it seems odd that it took them this long to finally churn out a Preschool show using already-existing Disney characters. I'd like to see another show like this utilizing Disney character from feature animation films (which would open up an endless amount of possibilities).

I missed out on it last night (was at church for an evening mass, then we went to Fuddrucker's for dinner), and forgot about it this morning. But I'll see if I can catch it again maybe next Saturday. It sounds like a fine show, even if it's geared towards pre-schoolers. Heck, I still watch Reading Rainbow and Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood on PBS when I feel a little nostalgia coming on...

Disneykid, you're right! "Hot Diggity Dog" was the song that it was inspired by Perry Como with different lyrics. This was from the 1950's. The original lyrics went "Hot diggity dog ziggity boom, what you're do to me...". But on the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", it has different lyrics.

No, I don't think they tried to change those lyric's.... because Mickey Mouse's first word's ever.... where 'Hot Dog's'

I think that's why he sang that song and.... why he sad it through out the show

I think that the Minnie in this TV series, is the sexiest Minnie I've ever seen

the TiVo is getting worn out from replay!

I haven't seen it...yet. But, I think I heard someone talking about it's high ratings or something. So it must be good for the little ones!
