Who has bought used Disney DVDs at Gamestop?

I was wondering, for those of you who have used Gamestop to purchase used disney DVD's, how good of a condition are most of the DVD's? I went on their website, and it said

"It is guaranteed to work on your DVD player and may not include original box."

So, despite that warning, do MOST Disney DVD's have the case, coverart, ect? And my other question is do you know if the Gamestop/EB Game stores will ship to other Gamestop/ EB Game stores for free? (i know that Plan 9 Music does this...that's how i got Sleeping Beauty which was about an hour and a half away.)

I'm asking this because I found a Gamestop store that's 72 miles away from where I live that has both BatB and Snow White in stock (according to the website, and when i tried to call the store, the guy said DVD's were at the other end of the store and that he wouldn't readily know if they had it....)....

So, i guess my main question is, will gamestop ship 1-2 DVD's to other gamestops? (aka: one a lot closer to where i LIVE?)

btw, i'm very sorry if this topic is in anyway off topic to disney movies ahead of time!

thanks!

It all really depends on the people who sell/trade it at gamestop.

Before I found really good copies of Snow White and BATB at my nearest gamestop, i've seen some at the mall and other stores that were in HORRENDOUS condition. Like, the cover art was all watered down or wrinkled, the inserts were torn, and when I asked to examine the discs, they were scratched.

But that's not always the case. Most of the time they're in really wonderful condition, many of us will testify to that.

Anyways, here's what I got at GameStop (and E/B Games), all in near-perfect condition:

Snow White PE $16.99
Pinocchio GC $12.99
Fantasia single-disc $11.99 ((E/B Games)
Alice in Wonderland ME $9.99
Peter Pan SE $12.99
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh AE $12.99
Fox and the Hound GC $12.99
Oliver & Company SE $9.99
Beauty and the Beast PE $12.99
The Lion King PE $12.99
The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride SE $9.99
Mulan SE $9.99
Tarzan CE $12.99
Dinosaur CE $7.99
Atlantis CE $9.99 (E/B Games)
Treasure Planet $7.99
Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure $9.99 (E/B Games)
Brother Bear SE $12.99

I've purchased a few DVDs from my local store (never over the net) and they've worked fine and have been in good condition. They are almost always willing to take them back if they don't work. If you are having doubts though, save yourself some stress and keep looking in person for the movies you want. :)

Here in Wichita, it is a shopper's market when it comes to used DVD's. Suncoast Motion Picture Company sells Previously Viewed products and always seem to have a Disney title that I am looking for. Then there is Electronic Boutique and GameStop and CDTradepost that all sell Previously owned DVD's. It is just a matter of finding the best price. They all seem to stand behind their products very well, I have never had a problem returning something that was defective or questionable.

Then there are the Pawn Shops all over town (about 75 of them) that sell Previously owned DVD's for 7.99 or three for $20. Sometimes they have clearance sales and unload bunches of DVD's for $1-$3 each.

Just shop around and look for your best deals.

In Carson City which is a city of just over 50 thousand people we have a Game Stop, 2 Hollywood Videos, 2 Blockbusters, a few grocery stores and 6 or 7 pawn shops which all sell used dvds. I have never had a problem with one from anywhere. There is also some people around the corner from me who buy every dvd when it comes out, watches them and sells them in garage sales throughout the summer

I think the condition of the DVD really depends on how well the original owner took care of it, so the quality is going to vary from store to store as they each have different people who sell DVDs to them. In addition to missing cover art, be aware of scratches; even the people in the store might miss some, and the smallest scratch can ruin a disc.

I'd say buy used ONLY if you can't find the movie for a reasonable price online. Try half.com, Amazon, or other overstock retailers first. It may even be easier that way than trying to get one Gamestop to send a DVD to another.

If you are like me, and never buy anything on-line (ye ole credit card problem from five years ago still haunts me) then you must be at the mercy of used DVD dealers. For the most part, I have never had a problem with a used DVD. I have had more problems with new DVD's from the big stores than I have from used DVD's from anywhere else. You just have to be a careful shopper and if they won't let you look at the disc before purchase, then take you business elsewhere.
