Hey y'all. I found this article on WRAL-TV's website, and thought it was interesting:
"CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Gentleman, start your ... projectors?
'Cars,' the latest animated offering from Disney and Pixar, will premiere May 26 on four giant outdoor screens at Lowe's Motor Speedway in suburban Charlotte, studio and track officials said Thursday. The debut will come two nights before the track hosts the Coca-Cola 600, with proceeds from the 30,000 tickets benefiting Speedway Children's Charities...
The premiere, which Disney and Pixar are billing as the first multiple-screen digital cinema premiere ever, will involve some technological derring-do in Turn 2 of the speedway, where four 50-foot-high by 115-foot-wide outdoor screens are to be constructed.
The film will be projected on Texas Instruments DLP Cinema projectors and a special sound system is being installed for the event"

Considering how NASCAR-obsessed North Carolina is, I'm not too suprised that Pixar is premiering "Cars" here...and I think it's going to make sooooo much money here once it hits theaters.
