Disney Animated Movies and Final Fantasy 7

Besides being a Disney fanatic, I am also a Final Fantasy 7 fanatic.

Last time I was playing FF7 on my old Playstation, I was thinking that Final Fantasy 7 and Disney are the last things to meet; they're so different.

Later on I found out that a couple of years previously, a videogame for PS2 had been released, developed by SquareSoft, the same developer of the acclaimed Final Fantasy series, that included Disney characters with Final Fantasy characters! It was called Kingdom Hearts!

I played it. It's a good game, despite the fact that it treats the Disney Classics rather naively.

But my gosh! It was weird to see Hercules holding Cloud (the lead character of FF7) over his shoulders during a phase of the game. Or to see Donald Duck talking to Aeris! (Another FF7 character.)

It was interesting anyway! :float:

Is there anyone out there interested in Disney AND Final Fantasy 7 aswell?

I'd love to see a reply from you!

Hey, I'm both a Disney and Final Fantasy fan, although my favourites are 8 and 9 :D (I own 7, but haven't played it yet  )

I will play 7 soon though, I keep hearing its by far the best of the series.

Yup, I'm a huge Final Fantasy VII fan.

Can't wait for Advent Children to arrive next month. 8)

I'm a HUGE Kingdom Hearts fan, and can't wait for the release of KH2.

About Final Fantasy....the only one I've ever played is Final Fantasy X. I'd like to get a hold of FF7. But I've read up so much on all the FF games, that I know all their stories, and don't feel an urgent need to get the games. After hearing so much about Advent Children (all the horrible rumors about Square never releasing it R1), I'll be so happy once it's sitting on my dvd shelf. :D

It's good to see so much enthusiasm.

But I've got a problem. The Final Fantasy 7 that I own is a pirate copy and sometimes, the videos don't play very smoothly on my old Playstation (Poor thing, I've been using it for 8 years...) How on earth can I get my hands on an original copy? Amazon.co.uk doesn't ship videogames to Malta, and play.com doesn't even have FF7.

I'm sure there's an original copy floating around somewhere on Ebay. That's the only solution I can think of.

I too am a huge fan of both, but I only managed to bring myself to buy Kingdom Hearts two weeks ago after hearing so much about it and now I can't stop playing it.

I have to say though - FF8 is my favourite, I prefer the characters and plot in that game. I cant wait wait for FF12, I just created my avatar in honour of its Japan release this week.

I have NEVER played ANY Final Fantasy game! If it weren't for the Disney element, I don't think I would've ever played Kingdom Hearts

I like Kingdom Hearts, and I like the majority of the Final Fantasy games...

But I HATE FF7! :x Good grief, it's like they took the Esper system from Final Fantasy VI and BROKE it for VII.

I know, old thread - but I've been wondering. If Disney and Square maintain good relationships, do you guys think we may ever see a film version of Final Fantasy VII? I would be thrilled if WDFA get the rights to adapt Final Fantasy VII for the big screen. I'm not too enthusiastic about Square adapting their own game, because they aren't film-makers, and though Advent Children is a decent film, I think Disney would in the end do a better job of adapting Final Fantasy VII.

Your thoughts?

I think that could be a good idea and base it off the games and battle the heartless

You're talking of Kingdom Hearts there. :) Final Fantasy VII is totally different, and much older, having been released almost 10 years ago.

I think a Kingdom Hearts CGI movie would actually be good, in fact most of it was cutscenes anyway, they wouldn't need to do much and they've already got the soundtrack sorted...

Enough Final Fantasy 7.

The Complication of Final Fantasy 7 can go rot in hell for all I care. We don't need another film, game, or other media for that piece of dreck.

i love both. heck i only play Final Fantasy is because of Kingdom Hearts. without that game i wouldn't have found out about it until Advent Children which i found wasn't as good as the games :P . so far i have FFI, FFII, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, FFXII, FFVII Dirge Of Cerberus, and FFXI Treasure Of Aht Urgan. right now i'm trying to find FFIX since i don't have it and trying to get the computer versions of FFXI since the PS2 version doesn't work on the PS3  . my favorite battle system is 12's since you don't have to input comands like the previous ones but it is still like the older ones in that you have to wait to attack which i find a little weird since people in a lot of other games don't wait a minute to attack. so far my least favorite game is 8 since the monsters level up and the whole battle system confuses me along with the gambits of 12.
has anyone on here ever played the Dragon Quest games. i have number 8 but i hate it. i hate it because it takes forever to level up since the exp. dosen't go up as you go furthur. for example the Slime gives out 1 Exp. no matter where you are so it gets very madding :x . i'm thinking of getting DQIX since it is going to be on the DS which a lot of people find weird since you don't find real major games of a series on the handheld systems. the only major series on them are Pokemon, Mario, Metroid, and Zelda. anyway who on here is going to get Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII. right now it has FFXIII, FFVersusXIII, and FFAgitoXIII. i'm going to get the first two since they are going to be on the PS3 while the third is on the phone  . why put a major game on the phone i'll never get  . they also have the Ivalice Allience which has FFXII Revenant Wings, FFTactics PSP, and Tactics Advance 2. as for the Compliation its supposed to last until the 20th anniversy of FFVII which is 2017 and they haven't announced any more games for it. all they have left is Crisis Core to release worldwide and Before Crisis for america.
who on here is also hoping for enhanced remakes of FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX? i know i am since those are the only old games not to be remade yet.
