Going to a theme park site I use to go to regualarly, I found that a they posted a blog I think some people will find interesting.

Apparently, Disney and Pixar are both interested in employees take on the success of the Disney parks. They are asking for feedback and ideas as to how the parks can be improved and have set up an internet blog for people to submit ideas. Note though that the general public can not submit ideas, but only Disney employees, but the site is still out for the public to read hear here and it's pretty interesting.

So now this thread can be open to discuss ideas other people have for the parks.

too bad there is already The Aladdin themed hotel there; what more perfect Castle for DR:LV in a city surrounded by desert...

the only problem with Disney in Las Vegas is.... Las Vegas. The City has tried for a few years now to make it a family place, but there really is no way they can. I think that's why Vegas has gone back to the moto "What happens here , stays here". I don't think we will ever see Disney make a Resort in Vegas only because of the city's reputation.

By the way, i'm not saying i don't agree that having a park there would be a good idea. I think it's a great idea! i'm just not seeing it happening sadly.

I'd love to see Disney make another effort at Chicago. The Disney Quest, was a very good idea it's just that it was put together all wrong. It really should've been placed in the suburbs or a place where it could've been expected to expand. Also a location for parking would've been nice. The fact that it was located down town, with extremely overpriced parking garages not even nearby but blocks and blocks away, was not a good thing especially in the winter.

I don't know. I can see a whole lot of characters lined up along the side of Disney, Las Vegas smacking nudie cards againsts their hands in an effort to get your attention

Seriously though, there is obviously some effort to clean up Vegas - the opening of the Wynn is one such example, and George Clooney's rumoured casino - but I agree that Vegas will always be Vegas, and that's what we love about it so much.

However, it would be nice to see the Disney people do something in Vegas. I don't necessarily mean a Mickey-themed hotel, but if the creative minds at WDI went into build a themed hotel/casino/amusement area in Vegas, it could be a thing of beauty. Vegas might never be a family vacation spot, but Disney doesn't have to make exclusively family-based amusements. Like Touchstone, WDI could create an offshoot for projects like this. It could be truly amazing.

a REALLY good idea for vegas would be a villians themed hotel, then they could have everything that is vegas and it would be acceptable because everything is bad! It's kind of a amusing idea, but the more i think about it this would really make sence!

That's not a bad twist, but then you still have recognisable Disney animated characters associated with gambling and drinking. I don't have issues with that, but I can see how the shareholders might.

I still think that Disney and Vegas would be a good fit. Even if not a 'Disneyland in Vegas' concept (because let's face it - The Strip is one big Disneyland for adults), at least Disney could build something in their imaginative style there.

We were just at Las Vegas last Christmas (Yes, on Christmas day we were there. Tis sad...). Anyhow, I don't know if it was beacuse it was Christmas, but the place was filled with families. And having gone when I was a kid and having gone now, there certainly a lot to do and see and enjoy these days for families. Though some of the best stuff cost big bucks, there are plenty of things in the resorts you can see for free. Like the strip's light show and the new Treasure Island has an nightly, outdoor pirate show that you can literally see from the sidewalk and walk into the viewing area. Also, the highly elaborate theming of each resort is great for all members of the family.

I think Disney would certainly be welcome to Las Vegas, but I can see why they're staying away. Disney probably won't really fit in since despite the current family friendliness because there is still a lot of bad stuff like drinking and gambling and billboards. That would be rather difficult to avoid and I'm sure many young children will have thousands of questions when exposed to all these things. Also, if they were to build a resort, they'd have a difficult time attracting guests who are NOT families and though Vegas is getting better, I wouldn't want it to be a family vacation hot spot just yet.

Perhaps a Las Vegas Touchstone resort would do better? LOL
