Now I am really getting old. Who the heck are Aly and AJ? Some teenybopper group or something?

You're lucky to not have heard of them. Aly refers to Alyson Mischalka (sp?), who plays Keely on Phil of the Future, a Disney Channel show about a family from 2121 or something and they get stuck in our time. The show is pretty good, though it's gotten canceled.

AJ refers to Aly's sister, and the twosome are now under the impression that they can sing, so Disney is eager to turn them into a teenybopper group. Pretty soon, they'll be on the fast track previously taken by Hilary Duff (kill her, kill her now).

The movie sounds horrible, a sort of Disneyfied version of The Simple Life...

AJ and Aly sound much better than Raven, God bless her heart. Or the other Disney kids that try to sing (Christy Romano *shudders*)

I agree with PrincessJen. I liked their rendition of Zip-a-dee-doo-dah. Don't mind Escapay, he's just jealous because they're successful and younger than him :P. jk jk jk

Though it's sad that Keely's making movies for Disney Channel and Phil lost his show and only had that one Disney Channel movie. Hopefully he'll star in another one of they'll make the end of the show movie! Maybe they'll really get to go home.

It's not rude to state my opinion that I think they cannot sing. It's rude to say that I must be deaf because I don't enjoy their singing. It's my opinion, I shouldn't have to defend it to anyone.

IMHO, their singing is too bland. It sounds like they're just saying the words in a "musical" tone. They obviously enjoy singing, but just because one enjoys singing doesn't mean one is a good singer.

And don't get me started on The Duff. More than half the UD'ers here would agree with me that her voice is put to better use when it's silent.

While I agree that the movie looks to 'simple life', I might watch it anyways. I'll give it a chance.
Their songs are pretty good. I really like "No One" and "Sticks and Stones". While they aren't perfect, they are good. At least to me. Better than half the people from American Idol (A show I REALLY hate btw).
IMO, they will grow and their music will grow too, in time.

They are better than Hilary Duff any day of the week.
