Is there a Disney feature release schedule somewhere online? I'd like to know paritcularly when or if we'll be seeing 2-disc editions of Pinocchio and Peter Pan. It's criminal that we didn't get one of the former on day one...

The good news and the bad news, first the bad news, no there is no definitive release schedule for the Platinum editions of Peter Pan or Pinocchio. It would seem that Disney needs to decide to release this info closer to the date.
Maybe this is because Disney does not seem to have enough confidence in their product. Surely the management were aware during production that the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was a sure fire winner. Yet they had to wait and see how it went at the Box Office before deciding to start work on the second feature Prince Caspian.
Just imagine if the Lord of the Rings was made in this fashion, the three films would have taken ten years from the release of movie one to the release of movie three. No Peter had confidence in his product by starting work on all three at once.
So it is no surprise that Disney has no set dates for many releases as they are waiting until they can be sure that the release will be profitable.
Unfortunately they do not appreciate fully the value that is in their product.

*sigh, there's more to UD than a messageboard...*
May I introduce you to something called the
FRONT PAGE. If/when UD gets news about a release, they'll post it here. The boards are made to discuss these releases, not necessarily as the primary place to get the news of Disney releases.
If you browse around there, you might come across
this page.
And if you read that page, you'd have seen this:
The Often Forgotten Release Types Page wrote:In May of 2003, Disney announced they would be adding Pinocchio, Fantasia, Peter Pan, and Sleeping Beauty to the Platinum Collection for a total of 14 titles.
So if they're going in that order (which makes sense), expect Pinocchio in March 2008, Fantasia in October 2008, Peter Pan in March 2009, and Sleeping Beauty in October 2009.
I think it's time for a dvdjunkie-patented
