okay i know it isnt Disney but everyone should go see it, because if its a big hit maybe Disney might relize that traditional hand drawn movies are still money makers

Sorry, I'm not going to give another company money so another company can relize what they should make or what they shouldn't!

This movie doesn't look very promising, so I won't see it. It just looks like an attempt to make a fun movie that's just going to end up being really stupid. And Curious George isn't as big a name as it used to be.

I will view it eventually. The watercolor animation looks absolutely gorgeous!

I will not rent, buy or see Curious George it looks like crap.

Definitely won't see it- I don't know anyone who wants to see it. I'm curious (no pun intended) about how it will turn out though. It looks incredibly kiddie oriented and am wondering if it's as bad as it looks.

Won't be buying it on DVD either.

I guess it'll be a little fun adventure for kids. There are also original Jack Johnson songs so maybe it'll bring the plot forwards that way.

Well i was hoping that Curious George would be the saviour of Traditional animation and there might have been a chance that is a made a profit, Disney would consider reopening the old WDFA department.

But after seeing the trailer for this, it looks awful. The animation looks lovely yes, but as for the story it looks as though it's aimed squarely at ages 5 or under. I think this will make $20mil max, very disappointed.

Curious George doesn't interest me at all. The plot looks EXTREMELY kiddish. And the animation look like it has been lifted right out of a Nick Jr. cartoon. Kind of a shame such a talented person like Ron Howard is wasting time on this.

Oh and to the people who only want to see it because they want to "save" 2D animation, don't waste your time. If great films like "Treasure Planet" or "Brother Bear" couldn't save 2D animation, I doubt this television market film can.

I guess that logic would make sense, but Treasure Planet and Brother Bear were not great films.

I for one, am going to see this movie with my husband and all five of our kids. I have seen the previews for this movie, and true - it seems aimed at younger children....but so are the books! Hello!

I don't see why any parent with young kids wouldn't take their child to see this movie. In fact, this is going to be my 3-year-old's first movie in the theaters, and he's so excited he's been talking about it for weeks.

I'll report back after I see it. I'm totally excited! Curious George was a big part of my childhood, and I've read most of the books to all of my children. I'm glad to see a movie come out, especially by Ron Howard. I don't think he's wasting his time at all. The soundtrack looks great too.

I think it looks cute enough to peek my interest. Sadly enough, however, this weekend it's a toss-up between Transamerica and Mrs. Henderson Presents

I might take my two year old, I've taken him to see movies before he sat well threw Madagascar and Chicken Little, but he didn't sit well threw Hoodwinked, so I might wait a few months and take him to see Over the Hedge or Cars. But I think Curious George looks like a decent way to spend 80 minutes, I like the animation style its so birght and colourful, and really it's the only major 2d movie coming out this year. I loved the books as a kid, and my middle name is George. If I don't make it to theatres with the family, we'll check it out on dvd for sure.

It's heading for a $10 million+ opening weekend, and kids films usually have long legs so it's already a lock for making more than $20 million.

Im not sure If i want to see this. The animation looks bright and colorful and it has a good voice cast and it got decent reviews...but lots of reviews said its mostly more for kids and its not much of a family movie.

In the box office it came in at number 3 i think with around 15million.

Thats not that bad for a opening...I think that this film will do really good during weekdays because kids 5 and under might go see it after school or something and with president weekend being next week that will make good business. Wen I saw The Pink Panther yesterday Curious George was sold out.

Plus in the NY and New England there was a huge snow storm so tons of people couldnt really get out of the house.

Plus Such Films like Hoodwinked and Wallace and Gromit openeed around those numbers but they had 3 day weekends when they were released cause they were both released around holidays.

So with all those reasons I think Curios George will do okay and make around 60million.

I'm seeing it again.

AMAZING. TRUE material you can watch with your kids without any "adult humor" that might or might not go over their heads. Awesome soundtrack. Beautiful traditional animation. I left the theater with my jaw dropped and my spirits soaring. My eight-year-old son told me "Mom, that's the best movie I've ever seen".

I can't wait for the DVD, and I promised my kids I would take them to see it again in the theaters (never done that before).

Please go see this movie....Ron Howard has a winner here.

Sorry to drag this thread up again....but I have to reiterate.

Has anyone taken a look at the user reviews for this movie on Yahoo or other? Aside from the teenagers that rate it F....the reviews for this movie are incredible.

30% of them mention that Disney should go back to doing their animated features in traditional hand-drawn.

I took my kids to see this a second time this weekend, and it was even better than the first time around! If you have kids, or grew up with Curious George....this movie is a must-see.

I want to see this movie and Eight Below. I grew up watching Curious George short cartoon clips on a show called "Pinwheel" on Nickelodeon. And even though Will Ferrel is the man in the yellow hat's voice, I think I could enjoy it.

Curious George is rated "G" but many movies touted as family fare are getting PG ratings.
