Favourite Theme Park Based Movie

There are four, count 'em, four movies that Disney have released based on Disney theme park rides and attractions.

Most will have heard of the most recent three, but a few may have missed the 1997 TV movie Tower of Terror, with no less than Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst. Disney used this TV movie to test the waters of turning Disney Theme Park attractions into movies. What followed was Mission to Mars (2000), The Country Bears (2002), Pirates of the Carribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), The Haunted Mansion (2003) and others.

(Note: Given that Pirates 2 hasn't been released yet, I won't count that as part of this poll. I have also chosen to exclude the Mission to Mars film, because although there is a connection to WDW's Mission: Space, it is a Touchstone and not Disney release). Also, this poll is based on movies based on rides, and not the many rides based on movies.

Anyways, the question is simple: which is YOUR favourite?

No question my favorite is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Phenomenal movie!

PotC was my favorite but the only other one I've seen is the ToT movie. It wasn't bad, a nice way to waste some time while doing some housecleaning on a weekend... but definitely not anything big!!

I just hope they don't change the ride at all to make it more like the movie. It's perfect the way it is.

Without a doubt, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. My second favorite would be The Haunted Mansion. The Tower of Terror is alright for a TV movie, but I don't like The Country Bears at all.

I wouldn't be surprised to see POTC:TCOTBP stay at 100%. (Netty might try to slip in some support for The Country Bears, though). I voted for POTC. I'll rank them now:

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
2. The Country Bears (very much underappreciated, indeed)
3. The Haunted Mansion
4. Tower of Terror

Pirates of the Caribbean. Without a doubt, if only for Jonny Depp's role as Jack! I've only seen The Haunted Mansion other than that, and that was plain redicilious.

There really is only one option: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl ! It's hands down, the most complex story, has the most likeable characters, has the best acting, the coolest battle scenes and special effects and in the end it's the funniest, most exciting and most entertaining film.

The Haunted Mansion comes in second. It had awesome set-designs and special effects, not to mention nice tributes to the ride, but the story was lame and Eddie Murphey tried to hard to be funny. Overall not terrible, but nothing great.

Tower of Terror is pretty much the same as HM, but it's slightly less enjoyable for some reason, but it's not really terrible.

But The Country Bear, UGH! What a train-wrek! It was just 1 crappy country song and 1 lame joke after another! I couldn't even watch the whole thing all the way through! It was pretty much un'bear'able! Sorry Netty!

Pirates is the best one. Followed by Haunted Mansion

What about 20 Thousand Leagues under the sea. was the movie around first or the ride.

The movie came out in 1954, and the Submarine Voyage at Disneyland opened in 1959. The actual ride called "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" was at WDW, and the park itself didn't open until 1971.

I might do another poll, favourite movie-based ride...

Sorry for being a "Disney know-it-all" but that would be 1971! :D
