Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

...AMAZING.
Right now, the cast and crew of ABC's Extreme Makover: Home Edition, the crew of Simmons Homes, and hundreds of volunteers are in Dewey, Oklahoma, helping a family that I know, rebuild their lives. It is amazing what they are doing.
The family is that of John and Danna White. John was pastor of a church that my sister and I attended in Wann, Oklahoma, when we were in high school. John and Danna had ten children, who we attended school with. My sister dated their oldest son, Luke. At any rate, the White's were a wonderful addition to our community, and we were truly sad when they moved out of our little town. They eventually ended up in Dewey, Oklahoma. On John and Danna's 19th Wedding Anniversary (April 11, 2005), John suffered a major heart attack, and died. Their church gave the White's as much help as they could, but eventually, they had to move out of the house (provided by the church), to make room for the new pastor. Danna apparently purchased two run down trailers (a single wide and a double wide), and some land, but was not able to move the trailers to the new land. On top of that, the trailers were not fit to live in, with the double wide having no electricity. The remaining five children who live at home, have been spending the coldest nights at friends' homes, just to stay warm. One thing we can be thankful for, is that it hasn't been as cold in Oklahoma, this year.
At any rate, members of their church wrote in to ABC, and submitted the White's for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and thankfully, they were chosen. They have been in Oklahoma for five days, building a brand new house for the whites, and the house is to be revealed on Saturday!
Unfortunately, I have to work, on Saturday, so I will not be able to drive down, and be there for the reveal. I would love to see them all, again. My sister is going to see them, on Saturday, and wish them all the best. I'm just so thankful for ABC, Simmons Homes, and all the volunteers. They are truly helping a very needy, but worthy family.
The episode is supposed to air in March. I can't wait for you all to see it. It is a very touching story.
