Worst TV shows?

What are, in your opinions, some of the worst TV programmes? For everything good on the airwaves, there's also quite a bit of crap. So what's the plop? Make your lists here:
Big Brother
This is a disturbing, disturbing, disturbing thing that could quite easily sum up all the wrong in society. It is just a Peeping Tom routine for attention seekers to get themselves on TV without exactly trying. And people are obsessed with it. I once saw a 15 year old who was an expert on the show. Why was he wasting his life?
EastEnders
For those not in the know, this is a British soap opera set in a bustling market/housing square in London. And I can't believe that I once liked it. The plots are ridiculous and depressing. Pointless.
Watchdog
This is a whiney "consumer rights" programme in the UK and really serves no point than for people to be moaned at even for the most mundane things. Somebody's dishwasher doesn't work out of a million! It's not good enough...
All Grown Up
Rugrats was and still is one of my favourite TV programmes. Sure, it is aimed primarily at kids, but there's also stuff for adults to understand and it has a whimsical atmosphere. Why Klasky-Csupso sunk to this low is beyond me. As a single episode in the original
Rugrats,
All Grown Up was cool. As a series, it was essentially bastardisation.
Various ITV dramas
ITV is a TV channel in the UK and they always have these TV drama series on, and the majority of them are pants. Essentially, they seem as if they are just there to give unemployed actors jobs. Once again, not good enough.
Mona the Vampire
This just annoyed me. Plus, it feels so creepy. Yuck.
Brassed Off Britain
This was a
Watchdog like programme, and this too, annoyed me. Yuck.
Stingray
I liked
Thunderbirds, but
Stingray always borded me. I liked the bit at the end featuring Aqua Maria swimming, though.
Lassie
This old
Lassie programme was always on the BBC as a kid, and it bored me.
Love on a Saturday Night
I was stuck at home one night around two years ago as my parents were out, and this short lived variety show was on ITV. And it's a good thing that it was short lived. It was hog-wash.
Grange Hill
This is a British soap opera for kids set in a high school. The only redeeming thing about it is that I know a few people who were in it at one point. It's generally a bit poor, and also depressing. I remember once coming across a
Grange Hill annual once from the 1980s, and it had warnings to future school leavers that they could become unemployed (bear in mind that Margaret Thatcher and her government were kinda mucking up in England around that time, though).
Yourselfs?

Ok I know many of you will disagree with me but it's my opinion and I have my own tastes.
The show that I absolutely can't stand are...
Full House - I just hate this show, I have my reasons but I'm not going to say them out loud.
War at Home - Stupid...
Drawn Together - Stupid...
Trading Spouses - Never saw the point really so I thought it was really stupid.
Queer Eye for the Strait Guy - Same thing never saw the point.
Blind Date - The opposite from smart.
MXC - Idiocy.
That 80's Show - Thank god it got cancelled.

What was the 80's show? A spin-off? Or where they just continuing the story under a different name?

According to IMDb, it was a spinoff of
That '70s Show. And I also have some more shows to add...
The Proud Family
The animation was okay, but the characterisations were too stereotypical for my tastes. Not on.
Ed, Edd and Eddy
I don't have Cartoon Network, but I've seen this before. I wish I hadn't.
Power Rangers (various incarnations)
Why? Why? Why? Even as a six year old, I found it dumb. Yet everyone else liked it. Thus proving that I am one of the few in the world who has good tastes.
Car Booty/Bargain Hunt
Oh deary me. Not a pretty sight. I like
Cash in the Attic, though.
Wife Swap
The idea of swinging on national television is really disturbing. Please...
Home and Away
I find that
Neighbours is nice, but even I have my limits. This soap was just bland.

That show annoys me too, simply because it makes no sense. There is no clear distinction between what is real and what is in their dress up imagination, it is the least cohesive thing i have ever seen! But then again I doubt the makers think kids ever critically analyse it, but it is cack!

Full House- There are just too many reasons. The show doesn't even really have a key audience. The jokes are too stupid and unfunny for teenagers, and the subject matter can be too much for kids. The whole character of Joey is blatanly annoying and unfunny. The jokes are overly drawn out and when they finally arrive to it, it's way to predictable. I don't mean to offend anyone who likes this show, but I personally hate it.
Any of the new shows on Cartoon Network- They aren't funny, and they have no edge. CN is obviously on a very restricted budget as they aren't promoting the new shows like they used to. It's a shame.
Four Kings- Sure, only two episodes have been released, and I'll probably watch it this week, but the first two episodes were terrible. Again, the jokes and one-liners were far too played out and weren't funny once they arrived. I'll give it another chance, but if it is still this bad after the first 3 episodes, I'm done with it.

I think all of the current animated series on The Disney Channel and most modern-day 30-minute sitcoms are really bad. I also don't like Las Vegas or The OC (please don't hurt me).

Well it can't really be a worst show if it had its better years, Wondy. Granted, I've only seen like 3 episodes (from 2002, I think.), but it's got quite an amount of respect from old-time American soap fans, who embrace its realism and wish our sudsy youthefied soaps were like it. But of course, I've also read that the past few years haven't been good to EE, so I'm assuming the show's taken a turn for the worse?
Anyways, judging shows as a whole (as opposed to "it's had a couple good years, but the rest sucked" frame of mind), here's a few:
Passions
God, I don't know why this piece of sh!t is still on. It's sucked from day one. The only soap opera I have no respect for.
South Park
Shock and tittilate should obviously mean a tasteful tongue in cheek kind of humor, but I've always found this show to be overblown, obscene, and a completely utter waste of time.
The OC
I honestly can't understand the fascination for this show. Sure, it redefines geek with Adam Brody's Seth, but come on, who can actually sit and watch this show and not want to forcefeed Mischa Barton a sandwich or punch Ben Mackenzie in the face? Brody should've stayed on Gilmore Girls.
Reality Television in General
Who's bright idea was it that real people would rather watch real people on TV as opposed to fictional people? We get enough of real people in our everyday lives, why should we devote our TV time to them? Why do people have to degrade themselves to the schlock they do? Is money THAT important to most of them?

Won't hurt you for The OC (in fact, I'm on your side on hating that show), but I may have to throw a punch or two your way for Las Vegas.

There are so many shows to dislike but here a just a few:
The War at Home - just a very poorly written and acted show.
Wife Swap - a show like this belongs on the X channel.
Fear Factor - haven't we seen enough people eating bugs, c'mon.
Beauty and the Geek - one of those wastes of time that television offers.
Everybody Hates Chris - Don't understand what this is supposed to be saying to us.
Those are just a few of the ones that jump into my mind.

Note to Escapay:
Since I know that you like most of the daytime soaps, can you explain why, on "General Hospital", all of the other kids that wereyoung kids around the same time as Sonny's kid Michael are now teenagers and he is still about eight years old? Georgie, Lulu, all come to mind. They were just young kids when Michael was born and now they are all teenagers and over 21's and he is still just a kid. What is up with that?

It's all part of the daytime staple known as SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome). Usually when the writers tire of having to explain that "Little Jamie is away at soccer camp/in his room/robbing a bank/driving to his friend's house" or something, and they want to beef up the cast with teenagers, they take a young character, and age them about 5 to 10 years. For the GH situation, here's their birthdates, if I remember correctly:
Emily: Born 1985, SORAS'ed in 2003 (She isn't really a SORAS, but since her portrayer is practically 10 years older than her character, many consider it a SORAS)
Dillon: Born 1991, SORAS'ed in 2003 by about 4 years
Maxie: Born 1990 (I think), SORAS'ed in 2002 by a couple years, de-SORAS'ed again in 2002, SORAS'ed again in 2005 by a couple years again.
Georgie: Born 1995, SORAS'ed in 2002 by about 8 years
Lulu: Born...1996, SORAS'ed in 2005 by about 7 years
Michael: Born 1998, isn't SORAS'ed yet.

Full House - in complete agreement
Friends - never got why this was funny. Maybe I need to hang out at Starbucks more to understand.
Wife Swap - well if it had been about swinging it might have been interesting. But how exciting is disagreement about chores. That can be witnessed at my house all the time.
Webster - a cheap rip off of Different Strokes which wasnt all that great either.
Herman's Head - well at least most of the cast got rich off the Simpsons.
Unhappily ever after - Married without Children without wit. Enough said.
Any comedy currently on the name not name Everybody Loves Chris or My Name is Earl.

My Mother The Car would be my choice of worst TV show ever even Herman's Head comes very close.
I agree with most people Wife Swap variations, Family Matters, Full House, any current comedy or any MTV dating show ever.

The Entire 'Reality' Genre: I don't care if we are talking about Big Brother, Temptation Island, Survivor or Promiscuous Beavers Attack Citizens of Ill Repute (ok, I may have made that last one up), but I am willing to stick the whole genre into the poo pile. It is cheap television, without any real dramatic value. Plus, the conceit of calling it 'reality' television has gone way beyond a joke.
Sitcoms: Most sitcoms are crap. There, I said it. There are a few exceptions of those that think 'outside the box' (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, My Name is Earl), but the majority of mainstrean comedy is so unfunny that it baffles the mind. How a group of whiny New York princesses and pretty boys (Friends) managed to stay alive doing the same thing for 10 years baffles the mind. And how Joey got a spin-off - one that was renewed for a second season (!!!) makes my brain bleed. The proliferation of comedies in the vein of the mind-numbingly popular Everybody Loves Raymond and all US comedies cut from the same cookie cutter shape is indicative of the wider problems with television today. Treat the audience like adults and they will respond!
One of the most widely priased US comedies at the moment is The Office. I have seen both the US and UK versions, and the US version is certainly not as clever as it thinks it is. This is not an anti-US rant, but rather an anti-US network rant. There seemed to be a perception that the show needed to be dumbed down for a US audience, meaning the networks were treating the audience like idiots. Where the UK version would let a moment linger so that the painful and uncomfortable humour could be found by the audience, Steve Carroll prances about like an insane and annoying prat (Ricky Gervais, like him or hate him, brought more realism in his often painful, yet incredibly true and therefore funny, portrayal of the boss that 'wants to be friends with everyone').

Pretty much any "reality" TV show
The OC (seriously, the real Orange County is nothing like the TV show)
CSI and its spinoffs (I swear if I ever get put on a jury that watched CSI and think "oh look no fingerprint, he's not guilty, oooh i'm so smart s-m-r-t!" I'll throttle them.)

I hate all the reality shows- I can't think of any that I have watched more than once.
I also don't like:
Drawn Together
The Office
The OC
One Tree Hill
There are probably some more I'll add to the list later.

Thank you Escapay for you insight into what SORAS is. I am still laughing, but will continue to watch GH anyway, it is my favorite soap of them all.
Thanks again.
