Treasures....feeling guilty?

Just wondering if anyone else was feeling slightly guilty about shelling out $80+ bucks for yourself so close to Christmas to pick up all the Treasures titles! I should have used the money to buy more Christmas presents for OTHER people...but hey, I did also buy Holiday Celebration for my son!

If you can't treat yourself at least once a year, especially at Christmas, then when can you?

Besides, it is my birthday on Monday, so that's how I justify this gift to myself... :)

(Plus, I have family birthdays peppered throughout December and January. Madness!)

Guilty for buying Treasures close to holidays

I buy them, but won't be watching them until I've repaid my family for them w/my personal $$ stash, and/or Christmas money I may receive.

I have opened them and will be testing them to make sure the DVDs aren't defective. That way, I can return/replace them while area stores still have them in inventory.

Feeling guilty? Certainly not for buying the Treasures, at least. I've always though these sets are a bargain pricewise anyway, even though they now seem to be lowering the standard and therefore giving us slightly less value for money...

I don't feel guilty about buying them because we still have enough money for Christmas presents. But my wife sure tries to make me feel guilty. When I brought them home yesterday she said "Merry Christmas! Now go wrap them and put them under the tree!" She's probably just a little mad because her birthday is tomorrow. She'll be happier when she sees what I got her though.

Guilt, what guilt???

1) This is animation history!!!!
2) These are educational especially the Rareties DVD. I will learn about music and Ben Franklin!!!!
3) I getting them so my sons can watch them. (Lucky me!!! One of sons loves Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny.)
4) The b/w Treasures are great to expose your children to b/w cinema.

Yeah, I feel a little guilty...but I'll leave them uopened until Christmas, and return the ones that my family was thoughtful enough to buy for me. BUT, Costco was selling them for $20.99 each, and how could I pass that up? Oh well...Santa came early this year for me. :)

I came home and told my wife she bought me Christmas presents today. She wasn't so upset because this year I only got DD and Rarities. I have gotten every other title every year except MMC. She seemed pretty happy that I only spent $40 and not $80.

I have not bought them but I did ask Santa to bring me the two animated ones.

That's pretty much the response I get....so this year after I bought them, I just put them up on the shelf and didn't make a big deal about them!

I plan on only buying Chronological Donald. I'm asking for Disney Rarities for Christmas though.

I just wish they would split the releases and do two each six months. To have to buy four in one go is not always easy. Of course you can always buy two later, but you risk not getting if they are very popular or have to pay more.

By the way, Leonard Maltin said in his interview there would be 4 Treasures next year, but shouldn't there only be 3 ?.... It will be an even year, like waves 2 and 4 that only had 3 releases.

I purchased the "Donald Duck" and "Rarities" and then put the other titles in my letter to Santa. Hope he shops at Sam's Club........this week only they have them for $18.84...........then next week they go to $22.84.

The "Rarities" is pure enchantment. I am so glad that "Ben and Me" was included, it is one of my favorites.

I guess there will be a Volume Three of "Donald Duck" since this one ends with 1946.

Got all my Christmas Shopping done before Labor Day, all I have to do is get stocking stuffers for the grandkids - with eight of them, I can't forget one.

Don't you mean the current CD2 finishes in 1946 ?

I didn't buy any of the Treasures, but I did shell out $300 for clothes for myself at Macy's, $300 for Motley Crue Tickets, plus goodness only knows how much on random things like DVDs and stuff. CSI, Fantastic Four, Friends season 10.

But then again, I finished my Christmas shopping a month ago.

I kinda do then I don't. I didn't have enough money to buy all four so I only got the cartoon ones. I had to charge it as well. :(
I'm really broke this Christmas Season, and besides the Live Action ones don't really intrest me that much. :)

I do not feel guilty for buying the 4 Disney treasures. But I do feel kind of guilty for also buying 24:season 4, Star Wars: Clone Wars II, Fantastic 4, Cinderella Man all on the same day.
