I saw "Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas" on the Disney Channel and it was a great movie. It was Mickey and friends first movie using a CGI animation rather than a hand-drawn animation. "Chicken Little" did well with its first CGI theatrical animated feature. "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas" was the only feature film stared Mickey and friends where it was done entirely in hand-drawn animation. The second movie was completely CGI. When did that happened?

There was also The Three Musketeers in August 2004. And while it didn't star all of them together, Fantasia 2000 featured Mickey, Donald, and Daisy.

Except that most of them look pretty bad in CGI. At least the low-budget stuff that was used for that movie.

I actually saw 2 of the stories from Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas on Disney Channel as well. I actually thought they were both fun and entertaining stories! I should rent it and watch the whole thing some time!

Yeah, this was Disney's first completely CGI project. I don't recommend it, though. The Goofy/Max segment was the only one I actually liked.

As I said at the top, the movie was done entirely in CGI before "Chicken Little" came along.

Goofy, yes. Donald, no. Donald was in the following film, The Three Caballeros. Also, the big three were in Fun and Fancy Free.

I wholly recommend Twice upon, TP. You'll definitely enjoy the Donald story!

How come Donald is listed in the cast though?

But yeah, we've pretty much made the same point, neither of the Christmas movies were the first movies to star the three characters.

Yes, Donald did appear in "Saludos Amigos", in the "Lake Titicaca" segment. and with Joe Carioca in the "Aquarela do Brasil" segment.

Even though many people say that the animation was horrible, or the story wasn't that good, I personally thought it was a pretty good film. Some of the characters may or may not look that good in cg & I admit there are some low points & flaws throughout the film, but I think it's pretty good, for a first time at least.

I am one of those who can't stand "Twice Upon A Christmas". I can't get used to the thirties and forties- looking characters. Donald and Mickey look old fashioned and the 3-D CGI is really herky-jerky. I loved the first one, but this one will not find its way to my collection.

I actually did not mind the animation but found the stories poor. Far superior in Once Upon a Christmas

Totally agree. I saw the pics on the back of the DVD and it freaked me out

I just bought Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas though, and look forward to watching it!

Yeah, since it was Disney's first real shot at making the classic characters CGI, they didn't do a really stellar job. I wonder how the movie would have fared if they had done it in 2D as they originally planned. "Belles on Ice" might have been less "look what we can do in CGI" and could have been a better story. "Christmas Impossible" would probably be the same in 2D and CGI, as would "Donald's Gift". The Goofy/Max and Pluto/Mickey cartoons I can't remember their names, but they might have had a few changes if it were 2D...
