Look's like McDuck's still got it:

He even beat out Bruce Wayne, among others. I wouldn't have thought Scrooge was exactly in the pop-culture scene enough at this point to make the cut, but I guess not.

It's nice to see they took the Image from A Christmas Carol and the Description from Ducktales. Just a note: Scrooge is worth a hell of a lot more than $8 billion.... He even had to invent a new word for the amount.

I'm glad it's not just me who noticed that!!! Isn't Uncle Scrooge worth at least 12 fantasticatrillionubelievabillion dollars, per none other than Carl Barks?! :)

I think Scrooge is much richer than Richie Rich or Mr. Burns, but at least he's in the top 10.

Funny that Cruella de Vil is also on the list, too.

Leave it to a guy over 1000 years old to be the richest! :o
That was a good list...too bad none of them are real.

I'm more amused actually that Lucius malfoy made the list! :lol

What a crock. Lex Luthor has way more money than Richie Rich.

What an honor for Mr. McDuck!

From Forbes.com:

The Forbes Fictional 15
#3 McDuck, Scrooge

Image

Net worth: $10.9 billion
Sources: Mining, Treasure Hunting
Age: 80
Marital Status: Single
Hometown: Duckburg, U.S.A.
Education: Cluck U., dropout

With fears of avian flu subsiding, miserly McDuck emerged in April from self-enforced seclusion in his "money bin"--the five-story downtown-Duckburg office tower rumored to hold world's largest collection of gold coins. Immediately dispatched "lay-about" grand-nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie on expensive--and ultimately futile--search for "the gold at the end of the rainbow." Despite failure, troublesome trio still considered McDuck's likely heirs. Skilled aviator; often pilots own "Spruce Duck" flying boat to remote regions, invariably in search of lost treasures. Known to enjoy swimming in money. Literally. Fortune has benefited from rising gold prices and Duckburg real estate boom. Member since 1947.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Others on the list include Richie Rich, Jed Clampett, Willy Wonka, and my main plumber, Mario!

A few years back, Cruella made the list too. Quite an accomplishment. I am kind of shocked Mario made the cut. I know his entire life is spent collecting coins, but... wow.

Why is that funny? He's been smashing those bricks, and collecting golden coins for over 20 years now! It's high time the worlds most famous plumber makes the list. In fact, I would say that he's the only plumber who will ever make that list!

Oh, I don't know... just the idea of Mario being rich. :P He's one of my fave characters.

Ok, I'm gonna have to completely disagree with Forbes here. Scrooge clearly counted his money in one of the episodes (I think Super DuckTales Part 1), and it was enormously over the billions. I'm pretty sure he got into the hundred zillions. So, sorry Forbes, but your Disney geek-dom is way weak.

I'm still missing that other wealthy animated character, not mentioned
earlier, namely:

Preston whitmore, the financial goeroe in Atlantis, at the end of the movie with the discovery of the cristals he should be wealthier still.

then again, not sure if he's quote 500/forbes material

YaaaaY! Lara Croft is number 14!! Which is sort of strange...they combinded her video game character profile with her movie actress counter-part Angelina Jolie...odd. I think in the "videogame world" Lara Croft is richer then Mario...but in terms of who sales more games and what company makes more money...Mario blows Lara out of the tombs lol...But I don't care! Cause she's number 14 on the list woooohooo! I like Mario too though.

Anyway Congrats to Mr.McDuck! Even though he's a "scrooge" lol. But he learned his lesson Mickeys Christmas Carol!

Aaaargh!!!! Anyone who reads the comics knows that Scrooge is worth
five multiplujillion, nine impossibidillion, seven fantasticatrillion dollars and sixteen cents!!! Well, according to Don Rosa's stories. Carl Barks, Scrooge's creator, says it is one multiplujillion, nine obsquatumatillion, six hundred twenty-three dollars and sixty-two cents. I don't know why the Rosa amount always stuck in my head, but I never could forget the fantasticatrillion part. Anyway, either of these amounts put him at number one and pretty much untouchable!

Granted, the amount was much less on DuckTales, if I recall correctly, and I forget what it was, but with Scrooge the comics should be the source, because they ARE the source!
