Yesterday I watched The Wedding Singer.

I remember watching:

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

all last night because it was too cold outside and I wanted to stay near the fireplace!
Watching C&tCF was really enjoyable especially after the two romance movies!

We had another big weekend of viewing pleasure:

Fantastic Four: certainly isn't the greatest comic adaptation ever made, and there are certainly elements that long-term fans will complain about. However, you can't please all the people all the time, and Fantastic Four is still a great adventure ride through the world of these iconic characters. Jaded audience members may find the relatively simple and almost innocent nature of the Fantastic Four a bit twee for their liking, especially in the wake of dark comic masterpieces Batman Begins and Sin City. However, the film is faithful to the 'spirit' of the comics, and that is the most any fan can ask for.

The Skeleton Key: It is almost redundant to say that The Skeleton Key could have been so much more, as that can be said of any less-than-perfect film. However, given the beautiful and historic backdrop; the Hoodoo mysteries surrounding the story and its real-life setting and the fine actors hired to play the central parts, The Skeleton Key really could have been a much better film. Great cast though!

Nightmare on Elm Street: Here's one I come back to occasionally. Certainly doesn't have the scares it used to, but it still has some classic scenes.

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors: The best Freddy film? Freddy is at that great point between sinister and silly, where he is camp yet still a genuine threat. Check out that 80s hair, man.

Blade Runner: After watching a big thing called 'My Favourite Film' on TV, Australia voted this film as #3 in their list of top films. It was an odd list actually (including Donnie Darko, Amelie and Fight Club) showing how strong the youth vote was. At any rate, we sat up to late watching the film, then debating over the meaning behind it. Any film that still has you doing that after 23 years is a definite classic.

Well it's about time. I've been bitchen about the other thread for a while. Then I just gave up. I mean I'm not one to complain but I was surprised that the other thread got as big as it did without being shut down. Oh well, it's done with.

I watched South Park: BLU. This movie never gets old, I still laugh myself silly watching it.

Watched Camp Nowhere the other day. Got it through deepdiscount for 5 bucks.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure - Pretty bad movie, but has a few laughs and I got it for 5 bucks at Hollywood Video used

Today I watched War of the Worlds.

I cannot stand Dakota Fanning screaming.

Watched Havoc with Anne Hathaway again. This movie is really good and disturbing at the same time. I think people who like this type of movie should see it. Brand new to DVD, released this past Tuesday.

Also watched Regarding Henry with Harrison Ford, in what I think is he best role, and Annette Bening. I really like this movie also.

Last night I watch The Sandlot... Excellent!!!

I also watched Madagascar last night too for the first time. I must say I wasn't disappointed with this blind buy. However, I found the story and character development a little weak thus making the movie too brief. I would give it a 3/5 stars.

Right now I'm watching Gone in 60 Seconds... big surprise eh?

At this very moment I'm watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith for, like, the bajillionth time.

Finally went to see Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire last night.

It was pretty fun. Although, I still think Emma Watson is overracting terribly ("Oh Harry! Things just won't be the saaaame") and Daniel Radcliffe is as wooden as a chunk of a big wooden thing ("No. No they won't" *nods*).

Michael Gambon's accent kept slipping too.

These are all minor complaints or course, as I think it was good. Azkaban was probably better, as it was a bit shorter. The main problem with Goblet was that it just went on a little bit too long (and that went for the book too). Thankfully, they cut out a lot of the superfluous stuff from the novel (the 100 pages of Quidditch World Cup, for example). That said, there were many scenes that could easily have been trimmed, such as the 'learning to dance' sequence and a few of the surrounding bits.

Just purchased The Color Of Money the unofficial sequal to truly awesome The Hustler. I really enjoyed it more than remember it as Paul Newman was excellent and Marty shot the pool scenes very well. I found this movie to underrated probably because the people involved (Newman, Tom Cruise, Scoresce, etc.) and it is not as good 1961 movie. However, the Academy finally awarded Mr. Newman an Oscar for this movie. Score 8.
Now I have to rewatch my The Hustler DVD.

Right now I'm watching Office Space. I felt it's appropriate now because I have to go to work in about an hour. So this movie is getting me in the mood and it reminds me that some people have it much worse than I do.

Watched Fantastic Four and it was just as good watching it at home as it was in the theater. Just one good popcorn movie. No brain required to enjoy this 'comic book' fun.

Also watched Disc one of Walt Disney Treasures - Rarities. Just lots of fun.
