Well as some of you know, the little short at the end of "The Great Movie Ride" changed some of it's footage and added in:
Chicago
Pearl Harbor
Pirates
Narnia
Finding Nemo (in place of Lion King)
Forest Gump
I like some of the new ones added in!
A bit of a shame to hear about LK though!

I'm okay with the addition of all of those, and am happy to see this get an update! Nemo over Lion King, though? Come on!
Tell me Sister Act hasn't been taken out!

Were those the only ones added to the montage at the end?
I wonder what they replaced, since we know that Finding Nemo replaced Lion King (a part of me is all giddy inside since I don't like The Lion King).
Interesting that Forrest Gump is the only non-Disney related movie added (Chicago is Miramax, Pearl Harbor is Touchstone, Pirates and Narnia are Disney, and Nemo is Pixar).

Does the soundtrack have an abrupt addition or did the whole thing change to accomodate the changes and the additions?
that's awesome that this ride has finally got some more attention as the ending movie had even become a bit outdated. I think Shakespeare in Love and Armageddon were the most recent before this recent update. Hopefully this update will lead to movie scene updates. I'd like for them to change Alien into Star Wars since it is definitely more popular and is a good tie-in with Star Wars weekends.
Were there any other traditionally animated films represented besides TLK? If not, it's sad to see how much CGI animation has really taken over...

Not from what I recall, and you're right! It is rather sad!
Since The Lion King, as you all now, is my favorite Disney movie, I'm kinda disappointed, however I wouldn't mind if they added a new movie!
But frankly, I will NEVER understand this crazy obsession with Finding Nemo! It's easily Pixar's least imaginitive and least entertaining! If they were to add a Pixar clip, I would suggest Toy Story of The Incredibles, which are MUCH more memorable than Finding Nemo.
Heck, why can't they put a Chicken Little clip! HE'S WAY COOLER THAN NEMO!
Okay I think I'll stop with the FN bashing since Escapay probably hates me now!
BTW, I got this information from, my favorite Disney theme park site, Mice Age! Unfourtunately, it fails to tell us which ones have been replaced(with the exception of the Lion King) and the fact of whether they cut out anything(beside Lion King) or if they just added the scenes!
Hopefully if I get any more info, I'll update it!
At least we know Pirates and Narnia will be in there!

Nah, we'll just agree to disagree on the following:
I think The Lion King is an overblown piece of tripe that I wish for once the villain would win, while you think Finding Nemo is an unimaginative and boring waste of 90 minutes with unsympathetic characters (with the exception of Dory, of course).

NO WAY! Alien brings the good ole suspense to the ride. What scene from Star Wars is good enough to bring in the suspense of being killed by an acid-blooded alien?? "Luke, I am your father?" That'd turn it into comic relief! "You were the chosen one!"? Nah, that was bad acting all around. Keep Alien where it is.

Be honest, Escapay, you didn't find that alien segment funny? I mean the alien is actually quite laughable since the alien really dosn't try to scare the audience or anything, and the Sigourney Weaver animtronic made me laugh! It really did!

She looked even worse than the Ellen animatronic at Epcot!
Personally if I were to make make it into Star Wars, I would have the backrounds set into space where you'll see video clips of ships fighting, and then when your just about to leave, Darth Vader would come up and say, "I Find You're Lack of Faith disturbing!" and then would use the force to make those little bolts of electricity they use during fireworks! Now that would be awesome!
Anyway since we bring this up, I do believe Great Movie Ride is in need of an update! I mean I'm glad the mini-film at the end is getting updated but the actual ride needs updates. I doubt the park will be called, "MGM Studios" for much longer, but still, how could Disney have a part MGM owned park but NOT have a segment to James Bond and The Pink Panter!
Oh well, I just hope they don't take out The Wizard of Oz segment though, as it might be the best part of the ride!

Well of course it's funny! But I love how intense it is for children. I've heard many a child cry once we reach the Alien segment, and the sadist in me kinda is amused by that. Though I bet your Darth Vader finale would surely get the kids to bawl out, so maybe it might be a good thing. The bad thing is, once you realize that Hayden Christensen is the guy in the suit, Darth Vader really isn't as menacing as he used to be.

The Alien part has always scared me.

The Lion King is a classic. Finding Nemo is a new movie that was very popular. I think LK should have stayed. And Pearl Harbor? Come on!
I love this ride, though. It's probably my favorite thing in all of MGM.

I don't think any music has been added to the montage soundtrack; I just don't know if they removed other clips and/or shortened other ones to accomodate for the new ones.

Well, there are no NEW scenes featuring traditionally animated films; however, Fantasia is a scene in the ride itself (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), and Dance of the Hours appears in the movie montage at the end. The famous kiss from 'Lady and the Tramp' is also in the movie montage at the end.
The only major problem I had with the changes was that Narnia was added before it had even been released...yes, the movie was great, but isn't that a bit cocky? Oh well. Good job overall; still a great ride.
