Tis the season to watch all our fav xmas movies.

What are your fav holiday movie(s)...(not the rankin & bass cartoons-we already have a thread about that on here somewhere-I'm talkin movies)

Mine are:

* National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (prob one of the funniest movies ever) "Dont throw me down Clark!"..."I'll try not to Aunt Bethany"
"Do you hear that squeaky sound?"..."You couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitro-glycerin plant."

* Christmas Story: I totally want a leg lamp...

* Muppet Christmas Carol. (Hey I heard "When Love is Gone" is not on the newly released DVD -can anyone verify that for me? That is my fav song in the movie)

* Mr. Saint Nick (2003?)

* The Santa Clause (1994??)

* Santa Claus the Movie (1985)

* It Nearly Wasn't Christmas This Year

* Prancer

* Polar Express

* Very Merry Muppety Christmas Movie

* Elf

& I think that's all my fav classics & new recent favs.

It is on the Fullscreen version and the wide has as was shown in theaters. This version has after Belle saying "you did...once" and ES just looks at her they cut to OLD Scrooge, Rizzo, and Gonzo crying.

as long as it's on some version, that part was one of my fav in the movie. it's so sad but the song is so pretty.

I'm going to go with a few odd choices here:

Bad Santa: It is nice to know that in a world full of people wanting to sanitize Christmas, there are a group of people just as cynical as I am. This should be shown every Christmas!

Silent Night, Deadly Night/Silent Night, Deadly Night 2: Possibly the best of the worst movies ever made. PUNISH!!! The sequel is even wackier - they chose to shoot as little new footage as possible, and used almost all of the original film via "flashback". The sequel plays like a clip-show "best of" of the first film, with the occasional bit of new footage.

Elf: Has become a new favourite Christmas film. The incomparable Will Ferrell is destined to lead us all one day.

League of Gentlemen Christmas Special: It's not a movie either, rather it's an hour-long television special for the BBC comedy League of Gentlemen. It has more in common with an anthology horror film than it does with a Christmas story, but it hits almost all the right notes.

Oh, and I know these aren't "movies" per se, but I always enjoy watching the Rankin-Bass claymation stuff around the various holidays.

Probably The Santa Clause! (correct Fidget, 1994)

My family loves this moive and we watch it at least once every Christmas! And seriously can you blame them? This is a wonderful film!

Others include:
The Nightmare Before Christmas: Nuff said!

The Santa Clause 2: didn't quite have the heart of the original, but it was MUCH funnier :D

The Polar Express: Wonderful story, terrific animation, great movie!

Ernest Saves Christmas: ERNEST RULES! 8)

Miracle on 34th Street: the wonderful original, not that boring remake! :roll:

Elf: I actually don't like Will Ferrel, but this is a comedy classic! :D

Mickey's Chirstmas Carol: not really a movie, but I have to watch it every year.

It's A Wonderful Life: Classic! :)

Those are all my favorites! 8)

Mickey's Christmas Carol - We've got so many different copies of this, one taped off of NBC in the late 80s, one taped off a rental in the early 90s, one from Snowed in at the House of Mouse DVD, one from Mickey Mouse In Living Color Vol 2 DVD, and one from CCF9 Classic Holiday Stories DVD! But it's still a classic that we love to watch.

Miracle on 34th Street (1994) - yeah, the remake, not the original. We haven't seen the original, actually. At least I don't remember it. But we have a VHS of the remake that we watch every year.

Home Alone - We got this when it first came out because for once, it was a movie our parents wanted to watch! Anyways, the tape got broken a couple years after we bought it, and a couple years after that, I was in my "take things apart to put them together" phase, and I was able to fix this, Peter Pan, and a few other VHS's that we broke but still kept.

Christmas in Connecticut - the Barbara Stanwyck original, it's more a screwball comedy under the guise of a holiday movie, but I first saw it around 2 am a couple weeks ago, and I'm now hoping to buy it on DVD eventually.

Mickey's Once/Twice Upon A Christmas - It's become our new cartoon movie to watch, not necessarily replacing Mickey's Christmas Carol, but more like it's accompanying it in holiday viewing.

There are only two movies that I watch over and over during the holidays. Those are Miracle on 34th Street (the original one with Natalie Wood), and It's A Wonderful Life with James Stewart. There are some Christmans cartoons that I watch, but these two movies are the ones that make my holiday special.
