Well spotted, PixarFan.
Low-res is definitely the key part of that sentence though
Looks like it might be a bit of fun, although I never really doubted that they'd deliver again.
Let's see if they can capture magic in a bottle three times.

Looks good, im sure it will be just as good as the original.
Looks like its more centred in some sort of Jungle....or is it just me that thinks that?

Great teaser. Despite showing a lot of footage, they didn't really explain the plot, which is a good thing in the case of a teaser. Since this film has the same director and screenwriters as the original, it's nice to see that they kept the same tone and style. This is possibly my most anticipated film of 2006 at the moment.

WOW!
This is all I gotta say: Lets hope the sinking boat isn't king of the box office by July 7th!

The teaser definetly looks awesome. My remaining concern after this teaser is that they'll take the sequels too seriously. What made the original so good was that although it was epic and grand, it always went out of its way to create a good laugh and to create an almost parodic feel to the movie. I'm hoping this stays in the sequels, and that they don't turn into another mindless action movie. Everyone one knows we have lots of mindless movies to spare already. No need for another one (especially not from this company).

Taking itself too seriously isn't really a concern of mine. Especially after seeing the scene where Jack is running from the natives.
I'm more concerned with meeting expectations. Be honest with you, Matrix jaded me a little bit on that. Still if POTC plays its cards right, it could be the Indiana Jones of this decade.Action and adventure, but not afraid to have a little fun as well.

Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley... even if it sucks big time, the masses will flock to see it like they did with Titanic.
Okay, I'm gonna compare Pirates to Shrek for a minute. Pirates, back in summer 2003, came practically out of nowhere, people expected it to flop but it didn't. In fact ticket and dvd sales indicated people wanted more of Jack Sparrow's wacky adventures. Now Shrek, also came out of nowhere and showed great legs at the Box Office, outgrossing some of the most anticipated movies of the year. Demand for this new animated character was huge. So what happened when the sequel came out? It made Box Office history. Expect Pirates 2 to do the same.

Captain Jack is Back July 7th
It looks pretty cool, I must admit - one can never tell with a sequel, but it looks like they're doing everything they can to make this one even better.

Thanks for the link to the higher quality trailer.
We have already started a discussion here:

I agree though...I hope this lives up to the promise of the original.

The trailer looks great! The movie seems to have an overall darker, more sinister tone to it. "Black Pearl" is one of my favorite movies in recent years, so I echo everyone else when I say that I hope this one lives up to the hype. Jerry doesn't make too many stinkers, though...so history is on our side.

Thanks! It's best to save these, guys! They're more than likely NOT going to show up on the DVD!

Yes, Hogi Bear deserves a medal for always quickly helping us find a way to save them. So lame they can't just include them on the DVD. At least Pixar puts them out there - and even they left off the very cool "First in Line" internet spots.

Thanks, it's no trouble. I just don't get why the likes of Apple, Yahoo!, Buena Vista/Disney, et cetera, try and make it difficult for people to directly download the trailers. It also seems silly, in regards to not adding them to the DVDs, there's always space in general when it comes to most movies.
