What Type of UD Forum Member Are You? Revisited!!!
1. The True Lurker - "I'm not even a registered member, I just like to read all the topics here, so I can't exactly reply. Occasionally I'll say something as the unregistered Guest in the Feedback Forum, but that's once in a blue moon. I don't know what a Loomis is, much less why it's so important."
2A. The Occasional Lurker - "I'm a registered member, I think. I must be if I still get e-mail notices when I get a PM and log in to see what it says. Honestly, I enjoy reading the discussion, but I don't come by here every day and so I don't know what's been discussed. I only reply to threads probably once a month, and when I do, people wonder who I am and why I haven't kept up with the past 16 pages because I asked, 'So what date does this come out again?' or some other thing that's been discussed at length. I've been around long enough to know who Loomis is."
2B. The Regular Lurker - "I'm a registered member, and I read the forums every day. I simply don't say much at all, as nothing seems worth the effort to reply to. Mainly because I know a regular will eventually ask a question I have, and another will answer it. So I can just sit back, eat some Milk Buds, and let others do the work for me. Sometimes I'll make a post, simply because some things are too important to not say anything about. But I generally stay out of the way, causing people to think I don't visit the site anymore. But I do...and I'm watching you. In real life, I chat with Loomis about you all! Bwahahaha!"
3. "Oh My God, it's the Curse!" "Ma, it's the 90s, call it what it is: Our Monthly Visitor!" - "Yes, that is a quote from "The Golden Girls," and it's used to describe me. I tend to only come by once a month, and depending on how much or how little I say is either indifferent to other forum members, or they get really PO'd about it. Sometimes, I end up starting a trend where other posters who only stop by once a month end up posting around the same time that I do, and just as quickly, we all go away. On rare occasions, I will be away for about nine months, then come back again later as if nothing happened at all. I will say 'Loomis' simply to continue the trend of mentioning him in each description."
4A. The Acquaintance Poster 1.0 - "I don't have much time to check on the forums every day, at least not the way I used to. So I only post probably a few times a week, if at that. I don't say much, but I like to make sure what I say was worth saying. I really just come here for the reviews and to check if Loomis posts."
4B. The Acquaintance Poster 2.0 - "Unlike 1.0, I'm not on a few times a week. My visits to the forum are not based on a weekly basis, but more on a 'whenever I end up here' basis. So I may stick around for a few weeks, be gone for a couple months, make four posts in six days, then not say anything for another two weeks. I used to think I made less posts than Loomis did, but judging by his posting history, I've been here more...that's sad, I'd rather Loomis talk more than I do."
5. The Casual Poster - "I visit the forums every week, and post probably at least once a day. I don't usually start topics because I just like to reply to what others have brought up for discussion. I love reading whatever Loomis has to say when he's around, but since he's almost always MIA it makes my forum reading less cheese-tastic."
6A. The Daily Poster 1.0 - "I visit the forums every day, but generally only for an hour or two each day, and I go off to do other things. But when I'm on my forum time, I post as much as I can within the hour or two, since I know I won't be able to check on it until the next day. It's usually just conversational posts, but I tend to churn out one or two long and thought out posts if it's something I really want to talk about. I've started the Bring Back Loomis Coalition, in the hopes of getting him to be a regular poster once again."
6B. The Daily Poster 2.0 - "I visit the forums every day, and generally at different times within the day. I make replies or start threads whenever I feel like it, knowing I can check up on them a few hours later. It's not like I schedule my life around posting on the forums, it's just that when you've got spare time, you might as well use it here! Now if only Loomis would follow suit..."
7. The Hourly Poster - "I'm on the forums at least once every hour that I'm awake, and I post as much as possible within each hour. I usually have conversational posts, though I'm known to have the occassional long post, but those are few and far between. It is my goal to be within the top 30 posters of UD, even if I have to make stupid posts that amount to nothing to get up there. Not even Loomis can stop me!"
8. The Post Whores - "I'm on the forums every chance I get and love to post, even if it's a nonsensical one-liner. I love conversational posts as well, and I get a little giddy when I see that there's a long column of "Last Post by" with my name on it. Sure, not much of what I say is worth its weight in gold, but hey, a post is a post and the more you have, the more you boast! I made a rhyme! It's Dancing Elephant Time!
And I did it again! Get out the Pen! Hey, what rhymes with Groomis? Why, our Aussie buddie Loomis! Don't have a cow, I'm stopping now. Haha. Lala."
9A. The Banned - "I can't say anything because I'm banned! Loomis misses me!"
9B. The Unbanned - "I can say almost anything because I'm unbanned! Loomis is glad I'm back!"
10. The Moderator - "I have the wonderful job of watching over the forums and making sure it's not getting into the ugly territory of personal attacks, inappropriate behavior and pictures, and spam. I can merge threads, I can edit posts, and I can give warnings. I am NOT Escapay. He's not a mod, stop thinking he is. He's just been around long enough to know the forums inside and out, it's actually a bit scary. If Loomis were here, I'd ask him to be my Deputy Moderator, simply to keep him around."
11. The Administrator - "I get PMs about things that bother people about the site, despite regularly encouraging the use of e-mail instead. I post only when I can, and usually about something important in Feedback, or if someone makes a funny that I simply must comment on. I try to post about things that inform forum-only readers of interesting and abundant site content. Those forum-only readers remain mostly apathetic. I will just shrug it off with a fly-catching froggie smiley.
Loomis. There, I mentioned him."
For posterity, here's the original "What Type of UD Forum Member Are You?" categories.
1. The True Lurker - "I'm not even a registered member, I just like to read all the topics here, so I can't exactly reply."
2. The Lurker - "I'm a registered member, but I see very few threads worth replying, at least for me. I only reply to threads probably once a month, usually with a 'I'm so excited for this to be on DVD!' post."
3. The Acquaintance - "I'm on UD probably once a week, and post probably 4-5 times during that week. I don't say much, don't find much to say actually. I really just come here for DVD news and to check up on Loomis."
4. The Casual Poster - "I visit UD every week, but only post at least 10 times within the week. I hardly start topics, as I can't find anything I can think of worth talking about that's been talked about. I love reading whatever Loomis has to say, along with whatever comes out of Alan's mouth, God bless him."
5. The Frequent Poster - "I visit UD every week, usually for an hour or two on infrequent days. Maybe I'll be here on a Monday for an hour, then again on Thursday for two hours, but that's about it. I post as much as I can within the hour or two, usually conversational posts with a few long and thought out posts. I banter with Loomis every chance I get, but I don't exactly have chats with him."
6. The Dailies - "I'm on UD every day, usually for a few hours. I post here as often as I can within the few hours, but I like to make my posts count, so there's no one-liners from me! I often like to compare notes with Loomis on what types of silly stuff to talk about."
7. The Hourly - "I'm on UD at least once every hour that I'm awake, and I post as much as possible within each hour. I usually have conversational posts, though I'm known to have the occassional long post that people often read, quote, and converse upon for hours on end. I love creating threads because it means people are reading what I have to say! Loomis knows my real name."
8. The Post Whores - "I'm on UD every chance I get and love to post, even if it's a nonsensical one-liner. I love conversational posts as well. Heck, I even find time to practically write essays here! I've since reached the point where Loomis not only knows my real name, but he has found out my social security number, credit card number, and gym locker combination!"
9. The Banned - "I can't say anything because I'm banned!"
So...where do you fit in?
Escapay
