It's not mentioned on our Upcoming page, but a quick check of Amazon says:

Availability: This title will be released on December 31, 1969. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives

This seems to be Amazon's new way of saying "We don't have a release date".

If this show is what I think it is, the sort of Nature Documentary show where every episode was about the life of a different animal- I would really LOVE to see that again. They took the format of the really boring nature documentaries and made them really appealing and fun. But I'm such a fan of the production values of those shows, I'd really like either season sets or a similar sort of collection package series- where one collection would have y'know- forest animals, sea critters, high flyers, etc... I probably have the wrong idea about this whole show. But I would really love to see whatever show I'm talking about be resurrected onto DVD.

I think I just posted this the other day in another thread but True Life Adventures was originally a second or third wave Treasure but it was postponed. Possibly a pet project of Roy Disney?

It is still under consideration for a future Treasure however according to Leonard Maltin.

I'd only buy it if it contained this episode!

Could be, seeing how as Roy E. personally filmed and produced some of those episodes.

Now that he's back on the board, I bet you see these in the next wave of treasures.

I remember watching those on TV when I was a kid on Family Channel when it was more about classic Disney and not all this new stuff (which is okay but you have to have the classic too!).

I'd buy it, preferrably in a Treasures set but if not I'd still get it.

I'd love to see the lemmings episode again.

i remember the pair of scorpians courtship dance with the film played back & forth & barndance music. also the one with i think, albatross' coming in to land with commentary of an air traffic controler & we'd shout to the rest of the family "quick THAT one's on again". it was hilarious happy days. yay christmas is coming

My favorite True Life Adventure film of all time is "Perri". It is all about a squirrel. My next two favorites are "The African Lion" and "The Vanishing Prairie". I have "Beaver Valley" on VHS, but the quality is slowly going away with age and playing so often.

I am with dvdjunkie. I think Vanishing Prairie and Perri are the two best(in that order)

Actually, when last we had news from Leonard (about 6 weeks ago) he said that the True Life Adventures were still being considered for release, but no longer as part of the Treasures series.

Well since they won't be apart of the Treasures series I would love a COMPLETE boxset WITH extras. I have no idea how large the series is though and I've never really bothered to check it up.
Anyone have a guide handy?

Looking at that page makes me believe I have seen them all. All of them bring back forgotten memories especially 'The Vanishing Prairie'.

I remembver when I was young and saw those for the first time I was kind of bored since they were so "old" but even at a young age I grew on them quickly and they actually got me hooked on the show 'National Geographic Explorer' which used to be on TBS. (Now I have no clue where it is)

(Sidenote: Way back when I used to think Stan Freburg was the voice of 'National Geographic Explorer'. I really believed it but I think a few years back I saw that it was someone else. I was disappointed.)

I love these True Life Adventures, and hope they will release all of them in a nice box or so.

For those interested, "Water Birds" is included on The Rescuers dvd and "Arizona Sheepdog" is within the “Best Doggone Dog in the World” segment on the Old Yeller Vault Disney dvd (it also appears that it will be on the new Old Yeller & Savage Sam 2 movie collection dvd that comes out next week). I can't remember if this was presented in color or black and white though.
