Create a new "land"!

Since I've been obsessed with this new theme park thread for the past couple days(:D) I think we should list ideas you have for new lands for any of the parks! Here are mine:

The Nightmare land: Yes, this is a land based on "The Nightmare Before Christmas"! While I don't usually care for the idea of lands based on movies, this one can work very well. They can put a permenant place for the "Haunted Mansion Holiday" without having to change the classic Haunted Mansion every September. They can also have alot of great shops(some can be "Hot-topic" :P ) with LOADS of Nightmare stuff and they could probably have a Oogie Boogie roller coaster!

The 20th Century land: This is more like an Epcot idea. I think they can have a show that documents all the things that happened in each decade, they'll be lots of tvs around the land that show old commercials, alot of old billboards and a bunch of other things people can travel back to!

That's all I can think of for now! :P

What a wonderful idea, T/P! We can all be Imagineers for a short period of time.

I like the idea of a continental land, or some kind of country based things. Like It's a Small World on a grander scale. Either have a particular continent for a land e.g. Australialand or Asialand (which could be a bit limited, now that I've actually 'typed it out loud' :P) or some kind of Global Village, where various rides could be themed on different areas of the world.

I agree that a land based on a single movie could be bad idea, but I like the basic premise. After all, Toon Town spawned out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and a Halloween/horror theme for a land is actually an excellent idea. As you suggested, you could have the traditional Haunted Mansion style things in there, plus all manner of other "ghoulish" attractions based on the darker Disney films.

This could lead to all sorts of seasonal lands!

Actually, running with your 20th Century idea...

Historyland (yeah, that'll draw the kids in :P): based on various eras in history, it could be a learning experience that's fun! Imagine the look on the faces of kids of all ages as they have their heads lopped off during the French Revolution! In all seriousness, I see lots of "dark rides" in this land, in the vein of Pirates of the Caribbean. You could go on "missions" during various wars, in a comando vehicle such as the Indiana Jones ride...

Of course, there is always the Itchy and Scratchy options (Searing Gas Pain Land, Unecessary Surgery Land, Torture Land...) :)

How about Disney's Princessland for Disneyland and Pixar Land for Disney's California Adveture.

Also how about Disney Afternoon Land and Disney Channel Star Land....

I got a really good one Disney's Villian Land featuring rides with villains....

The Nemo one will be 2007, and apparently there will be a Monsters Inc one next year in California Adventure, replacing Superstar Limo. It is said to be a dark ride called Monsters, Inc.: Mike and Sully to the Rescue.

While I'm here, to expand on my historical idea, or even my Global Village idea, can you imagine a giant replica of the Notre Dame Cathedral based on the obvious movie? It could either be a stand alone thing to explore, or part of a massive ride.

I agree that a Villian Land would be good actually. So much "dark ride" potential, or some kind of insane roller coaster based on the nefarious plots of various villains. Any of these ideas would really suit the open spaces of California Adventure, which is in dire need of a "theme" of some sort.

I like the 20th Century Land idea, and I'd like to elaborate on that into...

Retroland
This is a place taking one back to the 60s and 70s. The cool thing is that you can go on a psychedelic hippy flight ride over the Summer of Love in San Fransico and into a trippy fairy world where hippy fairies and elves live promoting truth, beauty, freedom and love. Star Tours would be relocated to here, too, and you can go into a replica of the Beatles' Cavern Club! Hopefully if London Disneyland comes around, this would be one of the lands. 8)

Direct to Video Land

All the characters from your favourite direct to video sequels in one place for those who love them to be enjoyed. Take a ride on "Pocahontas II's longships", which sink when you get in them because they have just as many holes as the film. Meet the drunk chimps who animated "Belle's Magical World" and see all your favourite animals in "That Crappy villain what's-his-name for hunchback 2's circus show".

Please note once everything to do with these sequels and all the people who like them are inside this land, the gates will be locked trapping all inside and the key will be thrown away, then everything relating to them can hopefully be forgotten.[/b]

I'd also like to see a Villians Lair area where it's all villians & thrill rides...
I would also like to see a Neverland & Wonderland based from the books/movies they are from.
Perhaps maybe even a [/b]Under the Sea[/b] theme area?

There's DisneySea in Tokyo, and there are the two Water Parks in WDW but it would be great to see this introduced in the California Park or - as you suggest - a land dedicated to Under the Sea adventures.

.................

I like you.

Seriously, I would love to see a whole new park devoted to Villains, Nightmare Before Christmas, and other spooky things. They could also finally have the Beastly Kingdom land that Animal Kingdom never added. It would still all be very Disney-like, just with a tiny bit more edge.

This is hilarious    I thought you were serious at first and I'm like come on you have got to be kidding me! But then I read the rest and laughed very hard! I like the idea for a Neverland or Wonderland, what would be cool is if they did like a Pirate Land.

not really a new land...

Kingdom Hearts the theme park! (don't read if you haven't played because some things may be revealed that you didn't know aka spoilers)

This would basically be the ULTIMATE Fantasyland, utilizing a majority of the Disney characters. Though it may be difficult to get Squaresoft to allow for their own lands and the use of Final Fantasy characters.

It can be set up like Disneyland/Magic Kingdom is, but with only some lands accessible from others like how the game is. The major lands will spoke out like a wheel like the other parks with the center of the wheel a monument of the KH game cover.

Destiny Islands
Considering the story of the game, I see this working better as a tropical island paradise hotel resort outside of Kingdom Hearts since in the game thats how it is. Rooms will be in treehouses or island homes. There will be many pool areas and a central tree area with many of the resorts' amneties like restaurants, shops, guest laundry, etc. One restaurant can be the hidden spot with a gateway to the other worlds aka exclusive entrance to the theme park.

Traverse Town
In place of Main Street, Traverse Town is a quaint little town with three districts and many shops and an in-park hotel (maybe not very big and very exclusive) and the 101 Dalmations' House (though a house of dalmations, authentic or costumed would be difficult to maintain) and a Lady and the Tramp fountain (probably out Tony's here)and a Gizmo shop and Gepetto's and a secret lair to the wizard house with Merlin and the Fairy Godmother. Also Final Fantasy character greetings/dining in the 3rd district...though this may only appeal to gamers...Also, I can't see this town in the daylight, so maybe a glass roof system that artfully tries to manage an evening sky effect.

The Deep Jungle
Could be in place/part of the Adventureland area for obvious reasons. We could have a Tarzan Jungle Vine Sliders rollercoaster or intricate tube slide system! Also visit Tarzan's treehouse, lagoon, cliff, waterfall caves, bamboo forest - a Jungle Cruise like river ride with Tarzan and Jungle Book and Lion King characters all integrated together in one attraction!

100 Acre Wood
This could be part of the Fantasyland area. You'd enter like the entrance for Pooh's Hunny Hunt - a giant open book. It will have attractions based on Pooh and friends. Meet and greet with Pooh and friends and maybe an arcade since there are many mini-games here in KH the game.

Wonderland
This will also be part of the Fantasyland area. There can be a Lotus Forest and Alice in Wonderland hedge maze. Maybe a few shops (Down the Rabbit Hole - an Emporium like gift shop with a strange assortment of souveniers) or a restaurant with Wonderland themes.

Olympus Colesium (sp?)
This would be Disney's "weenie" at the end of Traverse Town, but not the icon of the park nor the centerpiece. This could be an intense thrill ride plunging you in front of insane audio-animatronics Hercules monsters and Kingdom Hearts heartless. First would be a slow ride through then it turns into a roller coaster that rides by Cerebus the Titans and you end passing Sephorith (i think i spelled that wrong).

Agrabah
The marketplace would be shops and a ride through or thrill ride into The Cave of Wonders. Also a magic carpet ride for the kiddies and Aladdin character meet and greet.

Atlantica
This can be modeled like Mermaid Lagoon in TokyoDisney Sea. You enter through Triton's Castle and you are plunged into the under sea world of Atlantica, with the effect achieved since this land would be indoors. Thered be TLM themed rides, shops, and a show.

Monstro
You can only get in here through Atlantica. This could be a Pinnochio Meet and Greet and a dark ride of this plotline in the game or a dark coaster.

Halloweentown
This would be a Nightmare Before Christmas themed area with Oogie Boogie's house, maybe a coaster or ride through, with also the Town Square, Dr. Frankensomethingorother's lab, and the graveyard. Themed shops and rides and a Nightmare Musical Revue because Danny Elfman's music is awesome.

Neverland
This would be the Jolly Roger and not really Neverland (like the game). Perhaps it can be a playplace like area with Peter Pan characters meet and greet. Big Ben can be seen in the distance from the ship and could be a high rise tower hotel outside of the park.

Hollow Bastion
The odd looking castle would be the icon of the park. The outside would be a thrill water ride with the Rising Falls. Inside the castle, would be a restaurant with character dining. This is the only place to find Beast and the Disney Princesses with the exception of seeing Jasmine and Alice (who isn't really a Princess) in their respective lands. You can see them in cryostasis (statues or animatronics or giant dolls) when the Princesses are not dining with you. You can also visit a Barnes and Noble in the library and explore the dungeons and caverns to meet the villains. A giant Maleficent the Dragon a la Disneyland Paris will also be in the dungeons. Also you can enter the massive keyhole to get to the end of the world.

End of the World
More crazy thrills and Chernabog and all those other monsters. I don't remember this world that much, but it was annoying and I just wanted to finish the game, hehehe.

Well thats my "land" that Disney should get cracking on NOW!

Expansion of Kingdom Hearts the theme park will be explained once KHII the game comes out!! New lands would include Pride Rock, Land of the Dragons, Christmastown, Fabled Countryside, and many more!!

I actually thought of a Pooh land! Many people seem to complain about Pooh raplacing attractions(Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and The Country Bears) so I think maybe they shoud make a land dedicated to Pooh! Therefore everyone could be happy! :)

Atlantica and Agrabah are also cool ideas. Atlantica can actually be a whole "under-the-sea" themed land and Agrabah can work as well! (too bad Island of Adventure has something similar to it though).

As for Halloween Town, hmmmmm, did you read the earlier posts? :P

I was looking at an old map for Disneyland in the excellent book Disneyland: Then, Now, and Forever (only available in the parks).

They show early photo for Holidayland, which stood on the spot where Pirates and Haunted Mansion now reside. It closed in 1961, making it a "lost land". The idea was that it would be a giant picnic/amusement area in the park.

I really like the name "Holidayland". As I suggested above, this could incorporate all the big Holidays - Easter, Christmas, Halloween. Kind of based on the Nightmare Before Christmas, so trees would be the entrance to each new part of the land.

How about something more political...what if Disney created a new theme park to try and compete with Bush Gardens? What if they did this and went Republican with it all too? Coming soon to Disney World...

George W Bush Gardens!
All your favourite Disney characters such as Pooh, Mickey, Snow White and Peter Pan recreate Washington, albeit in a more magical way! The Seven Dwarfs have their own little political offices in the Septagon! Climb the towering steps of La Chateau de Laura Bush, starring all your favourite Disney princesses such as Alice, Tinkerbell and Raven! Stroll down Memory Lane, USA where you can get a hair cut in the theme park at Barber Barbara Bush's! There's also a restaurant where you can eat politically, with dishes such as Washington Dee's Pancakes, Liberty Bella Pasta and Condaleeza Rice. Come along and join the fun!

Please note that this post isn't technically attacking the US government. It's joking at them, but nothing more and I don't want it to seem as though you're finding it a harsh political satire. I see it more as a satire on Disney's supposed lack of unoriginality. Hopefully this doesn't start a debate, but it probably won't unless in the near future the "I like the sound of my voice" person who's currently away comes along and makes it out to be anything like that.

i always thought that they should create a Water Park primarily dedicated to the under water films disney has released.

They could have Ariel Castle be a central land mark. Maybe it could even be a HUGE waterslide!

They could have rides afiliated to The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Steamboat Willie, The Sword in the Stone(when they are fish), Peter Pan (Bring Back Captain Hook's Ship), and many more or course!

this wouldn't have to be a HUGE park like any of the magic kingdoms but something the size of Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon would be nice.
