Nemo to Replace Tarzan at Animal Kingdom

We've known for awhile now that Tarzan Rocks is leaving DAK, presumably in relation to the debut of Tarzan on Broadway. It seems we can now put all those Jungle Book/Brother Bear/Narnia rumors of replacement to rest:
Last week, we ran a new rumor from one of our intrepid reporters, who heard that the Theater in the Wild would be completely demolished after the Tarzan Rocks show closes in March. We have since confirmed that the theater will not be demolished. The stage, lighting and sound system will all be gutted and the theater will be completely enclosed, as with the Lion King theater in Camp Minnie-Mickey. When the theater is completed, a new Finding Nemo-based show will debut in late 2006 or early 2007.

I personally would have preferred any of the three aforementioned replacements, but it should be interesting to see where they go with a Nemo show, especially given that it doesn't have any music. I also wonder how the theming will work, given its location in DAK.

kinda weird they'd go w/ Nemo considering living seas was refurbed for a whole new nemo & friends section & turtle talk w/ crush...but hey, nemo is fine by me too!!!
Jungle Book show was replaced by Tarzan a few years ago... I've seen both shows once & that was enough. FOTLK is a show I've seen multiple times @ DAK & its still great.

Now this really stinks. Tarzan is the best thing Animal Kingdom has. And not being a fan of Nemo myself, I will have no reason to go to Animal Kingdom Whatsoever.

Damn. The only things I enjoyed at DAK was Pizzafari, Tough to be a Bug, Dinosaur, and Tarzan Rocks. Less reason to visit the zoo-that-they-say-is-not-a-zoo.

Sign o' the times, I guess. At least replacing Submarines with Nemo at the original park kind of makes sense (both are wet).
Maybe the ultimate plan is to completely eradicate all signs of Disney life in Disney Parks and replace them with Pixar related rides.
Generally, I'm not sure I completely like the idea of the Pixar stuff replacing things in the park, though. Sure, Pixar is hot right now, but many of the rides are based on timeless Disney classics, and in my humble opinion, these are the ones that work the best. There is a Monsters Inc thing opening in California Adventure as well - I think it replaces something called Superstar Limo. Then again, as Walt himself said: "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. "
I guess that applies to all Disney parks.

This just in from Ain't-It-Fake News...
Peter Pan's Flight will be refurbished to become Buzz Lightyear's Falling With Style.
It's A Small World is to be renovated to become It's A Bug's World.
Pirates of the Caribbean will now include cameos by notorious Pixar Villains, namely Sid, Hopper, and Syndrome.
Fantasmic! will be replaced with Incredible!, a fireworks and water show set to the climactic battle in The Incredibles.
Jungle Cruise is now re-themed to A Bug's Life, complete with a fake bird.
Carousel of Progress will show the progress of Pixar Animation, from the early 80s to today, and hosted by Sulley, of Monsters, Inc.
More changes to come...
Stitch's Great Escape will remain intact, as the only Disney-related attraction in all of Walt Disney World, which will now go by the moniker Steve Jobs World.

Or The Enchanted Tiki Room is completely replaced with seagulls from
Finding Nemo, and the only lyric is now "Mine".

No! NO!
NO!
Now I love Pixar as much as the next Disney fan, but I think all this Pixar is WAAY unnecessary.
At least when Walt did it, he put these rides with the theme of their land! THIS DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!!!
Animal Kingdom is specifically made for animals ONLY! There are no underwater areas at all! This is just some lame way to use the Pixar characters! I mean it totally ruins the theme of the park. I didn't get to see Tarzan Rocks, but certainly they could've thought of a MUCH better theme than this!
Of course this isn't the first time Pixar characters have been used from Disney as lame advertisment. I mean Disney's California Adventure seems to have dedicated the whole park to Pixar. Or at least it feels that way with all the Pixar characters around! At least make them go to areas THEY BELONG!!!
And yes, I also hate the Finding Nemo subs too! I mean what do fish have to do with tomorrow? Nothing. So it seems so out of place. I mean I can understand Buzz being there, with the whole space theme and all, but Finding Nemo is ridiculous!
If I were to put a ride in the subs, I would build an Atlantis: The Lost Empire ride. At least it has something to do with tomorrow, plus it'd probably be more exciting than a boring clownfish. Yes I know Atlantis isn't one of Disney's more popular movies, but does everyride have to be based on a popular movie? I mean look at Splash Mountain and Mr. Toad's Wild ride, both based on unpopular movies, but yet both are beloved rides! Look beyond Disney even! Universal has that "Water World" stunt show. May I remind you Water World is one of the most expensive flops ever made! Yet the show at Universal and is quite popular.
Overall my point is just because audiences love Pixar, DON'T OVER DO PIXAR AT ALL THE PARKS! There's bound to be other theme park ride ideas out there, maybe even some based on underlooked movies!

I totally agree that they shouldn't change Tarzan Rocks to a finding nemo show. I wish Disney would go back to the way the were where they didn't need to depend on Pixar and their movies so much.

I don't have any problem with Pixar in the parks, after all, those movies are very much Disney too -- in my mind, at least. Disney just shouldn't forget that they do have other properties, and that there is such a thing as overkill. Does Nemo really need an attraction in Epcot and DAK? Especially when there are so many other viable options?
Side-note (well, sub-note, really), I wonder when The Incredibles will get an attraction?

Meh. I could never stand Nemo. That's one less attraction I have to see next time I'm there.

So now they can have grasshoppers chasing ants carrying food! Now the change can finally make SENSE!

So now they can have flies coming out of the water and shoot them! Until people complain that most flies live for less than a month so they have to stop shooting directly at the flies because they could get extinct!

Errr, not really.
Besides even if they are, Nemo doesn't belong anywhere near Animal Kingdom because he is not the type of animal you'd see in the savannah, and therefore doesn't go with the theme. That is why that annoying clownfish doesn't belong to be in Animal Kingdom. That's what Disney fails to see!

Fish are animals!
(Maybe you are thinking of mammals, that is something fish are not)

Actually, Animal Kingdom is supposed to be for all sorts of animals, as evidenced by several different "continents" within the park. The problem is that the Kilimanjaro Safari tends to overshadow all the other offerings at the park, so people associate Animal Kingdom solely with the African wilderness.
Assuming that the Nemo show is done well, I have no problem with it.

Disney already has "The Living Seas" at Epcot where Nemo has invaded, so there is absolutley no reason for underwater areas at AK.
Also Animal Kingdom seems to be a park about "the land". It's really about the nature on earth, not about the waters!
Besides your telling me Disney couldn't have replaced it with a better show?(Not that Disney really needed to replace it, especially with the Tarzan DVD back in print) PUH-lease! How about the Jungle Book? Or Brother Bear?
Finding Nemo just doesn't belong in Animal Kingdom! (However I wouldn't care if we never saw Nemo at another Disney theme park again!

) It's just some lame advertisment scam I tell ya! But then again, Disney is already doing this with letting Stitch go into Animal Kingdom which also doesn't make sense!

I believe I saw him somewhere near "Camp Mickey and Minnie"(or whatever that land it called) where he was signing autographs.
It could have been promotional stuff since it was about 3 weeks before Stitch's Alien Encounter at Magic Kingdom opened!
