The Wonderful World of Disney TV remake of The Music Man is due out on DVD November 11, and it's something I'm planning on owning, but I'm wondering about the aspect ratio. The press release says 1.33:1, which would make sense as it's a TV movie and was probably formatted for 4x3. But on the flip side of the coin, <a href=http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/movie ... ml#details target=blank>Disney's online MovieFinder listing</a> for the title says it's in 1.66:1, and that would make sense, too, since WWoD is available in HDTV and it might have been produced for 1.66 and P&Sed for 4x3 TV broadcasts and shown properly on HDTVs.

So what is the OAR? And which AR is the DVD going to be in? Anyone know? Thanks!

I'd guess that 1.78:1 is what it was shot in (and aired on HDTVs). The retail info is that it will be 1.66:1, which is odd.

There's going to be a Box Set for this too, which I'm sure will be the soundtrack CD and the DVD. Then again, maybe it's not or there's more, as SRP is $44.99.

Oooohh, I'll take them up on that box set if it is in fact the DVD and CD.

Are you sure there will be a Music Man box-set next month ? I can't find anything on the Internet about that. However, I did find some information about a Disney "Musical" box-set, which includes 3 DVD's : The Music Man, Annie and R&H's Cinderella. Maybe that's the one ?

Disney's info still shows this as coming 11/11, SRP is $44.99, UPC is 786936230161. No details other than that. That could be the set then, and if it's the retail price given, I'd guess that's it. Disney say nothing about the other two, though.

the UPC code is exactly the same, so I'm no longer interested in this box-set, since I already have Cinderella and Annie.

And it's good to see you posting again! Sorry the news is disappointing. I'd imagine the number of people who want all three of those and haven't purchased the 2 already available is pretty small.
