Are Goof Troop and Quack Pack coming on DVD?? Yes!

Post by Luke »

In the wake of this month's box sets, '90s cartoon TV series <b><a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... emz">"Goof Troop"</a></b> and <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... ><b>"Quack Pack"</b></a> will make their format debuts in low-priced, 3-episode <b>Volume 1</b> DVDs, each arriving on February 14th and carrying a list price of just $14.99. Such a route makes it unlikely for the two series to be released in their entirety by volume, as 65 "Goof Troop" episodes and 39 "Quack Pack" episodes were produced altogether. The only "bonus" these discs will tout is Disney's FastPlay system, which recreates the limited interaction of VHS.

Are Goof Troop and Quack Pack coming on DVD??

Post by disneyfella »

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but I can't find it anywhere. Apparently on BVHE's website there is cover art and release dates for volume 1 DVDs of these old TV shows. Can anyone confirm if Disney is releasing Goof Troop and Quack Pack on DVD? I know that they were released on VHS in volume sets (NOT in chronological order though, just collections). Perhaps this is just the recycled VHS stuff?..........

I think the release dates were for like February or March of 2006. I heard that Canada was getting them, but I think the U.S. is supposed to get them too.

Quack Pack: Volume 1 and Goof Troop: Volume 1 are both coming to DVD February 14, 2006.

Can you please post the link to the cover art? :)

Well, this is interesting. It's been a while since I saw those, so it'd be nice to watch the episodes again. I really hope that Disney releases Darkwing Duck someday as well, and hopefully there'll be some extras included as well.

Ugh, not these two. This better be a rumor. I'd rather have Darkwing and Talespin first.

But I do know why that these might be released next. They're already shows based off of existing Disney characters. It'd be much easier to market. Although if this is the case, I don't see why Talespin shouldn't come next, since that show also used existing Disney characters, too. :(
And I think kids today would still dig Darkwing Duck.

Personally, I think they should've released Darkwing Duck and Tail Spin before these two.

Well we can't say it's true yet because it isn't an official release, but if it is going to become an official release like DuckTales, than I must say Disney is making a VERY weird chose to release these two.

I can understand Goof Troop! I mean it wasn't as popular as either Darkwing Duck or Tale Spin, but it was a fairly popular show that required 2 movies and the show also made Max part of the "Disney line-up"(well sorta)! So I can see why Disney decided to release that.

BUT QUACK PACK??? Is it just me, or was I the only one who NEVER visioned this show being popular! I mean it only lasted 1 season, and it was often referred to just as a "weaker version of DuckTales"! That's also a statement I have to agree with! It was based on the same comic books, but it DID NOT have the awesome characters and cool style DuckTales had. In fact, it was kinda dull.

I think Disney would be much better off putting Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, Timon and Pumbaa, Aladdin, Gummi Bears or even The Wuzzels on DVD first. I wouldn't mind having Goof Troop sooner though! :)

I LOVED Quack Pack. I got into disney after the whole Gummi Bears/Wuzzles shows were loosing steam. I remember that I got hooked on Quack Pack more on the reruns on ToonDisney than the original airings. I am overjoyes at this announcement, and hopefully we'll see TaleSpin soon. But I really hope Disney tries better on these releases. ADVERTISE!!! GIVE INSERTS!!!! MAKE THEM WIDELY AVAILABLE!!! AND ENHANCE THE VIDEO/AUDIO!!!! I did love the packaging on the CD/DT releases though!

I know everybody mocks me everytime I say it but you can count on it.....Gummy Bears and Wuzzles are not coming to DVD anytime soon.

House of Mouse, Darkwing Duck, all the series based on movies will come first because they have marketable characters. Characters you can put on a cover and will produce sales, no matter what the content.

Woo-Hoo!

I've always wanted Goof Troop on DVD, and I think I'm one of the only people who like the 'new' Daisy - she just seemed more real. I can't wait till they are up for pre-order.

Disney is making some weird decisions. I agree with other people who said that Darkwing Duck and Talespin should have been released before those two. Also, I think Gummi Bears should have been released before Quack Pack. Although I would rather have Gummi Bears before Goof Troop (I was never a big fan, although I loved the first movie) I can see the argument for releasing Goof Troop first. It seems to have been more popular and has two movies and more episodes.

Yes, Quack Pack and Goof Troop on DVD!!!!
But Darkwing Duck and Tail Spin should have come out first.

But how many episodes will each one have 3 or 5?
