I was visiting my sisters house in Brooklyn that I saw a VHS tape called "A Walt Disney Christmas". It features 6 holiday classics includes the following:

1. "Once Upon a Wintertime" (from "Melody Time")
2. "Santa's Workshop"
3. "The Night Before Christmas"
4. "Pluto's Christmas Tree"
5. "On Ice"
6. "Donald's Snow Fight"

All six of these Disney holiday classics are on VHS tape. I got a question, are there any cartoons from "A Walt Disney Christmas" ever show up on DVD?

I own the VHS too.

Once Upon a Wintertime - Melody Time DVD
Santa's Workshop - Not Sure
The Night Before Christmas - Not Sure
Pluto's Christmas Tree - Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume 2
On Ice - Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume 1
Donald's Snow Fight - Chronoligcal Donald, Volume 2

Pluto's Christmas Tree is on CCF9 "Classic Holiday Stories"

Is TNBC a Silly Symphony? Because it's not listed on the treasures, but then again, the treasures set is not the complete set of SS's, and there should be a Volume 2 eventually.

"Donald's Snow Fight" will most likely be on CDV3, since it's post-1946 and not listed on CDV2.

Yes! Those two cartoons "Pluto's Christmas Tree" and "Donald's Snow Fight" are on both the "Classic Cartoon Favorites - Vol. 9" and "The Complete Donald - Vol. 3" on DVD. I'm not even sure if "Santa's Workshop" and "The Night Before Christmas" would ever show up on DVD on either series. Both of them are from the "Silly Symphonies" series.

And if you don't feel like playing that stupid game, you can go directly to Title 5 using your DVD-player's remote control. How to do that varies between different DVD-players, so you may have to take a look in the manual. Also, some players will only let you go to Title 5 after stopping the disc, some require you to start the movie first.

i have it on vhs. but when dvd 1st came out, you could get it on r2. i could kick myself now, cause i was not collecting dvd till later. never seen a copy since.but i do remember i will be notified if & when it becomes available, but cant remember by who, possibly amazon uk.

Best solution if you have this wonderful VHS "A Walt Disney Christmas" is to transfer it to DVD yourself. With the price of DVD Recorders coming down so far (I am talking about stand-alone DVD Recorders that you can also play your DVD's on your television and you hook them up to your VHS player or Cable or Satellite system) they have really become affordable to everyone.

I own an LG DVD Recorder/Player/VHS Hi-Fi Stereo Recorder/Player combo and have transferred over 500 movies that are not available on DVD at the present time to DVD+RW including "A Walt Disney Christmas". DVD Recorder/Players start as low as $99 now, and considering they were over $1000 just four years ago, that is now really a bargain.

Having a DVD Recorder would save a lot of complaining about titles not currently being on DVD and it would help a person eliminate the 'bulky' VHS tapes from their collection.

I have over 40 Disney collection VHS tapes on DVD+RW now including "An Officer and a Duck", "Donald's Bee Movies", "Adventures of Chip 'n' Dale", "Mickey's Magic and Music Revue", and several more unavailable on DVD titles.

Well, I don't want to steal any thunder from Renata's forthcoming review, but let's just say the narration has been redone, certain shots appear to be missing, and a shot from a 1970s Disney animated feature now inexplicably appears in it.

A Walt Disney Christmas [Approx. Running Time: 46 minutes]
A Disney Christmas Gift [Approx. Running Time: 47 minutes]
Jiminy Cricket's Christmas [Approx. Running Time: 47 minutes]

AWDC is, to me, the most "Christmas-sy" with all Winter/Holiday related shorts. My Mom bought them back in 1989 or back for my brother, but now they are mine. I remember, I always really liked the Jiminy Cricket's tape the most..

I have the special on DVD as "A Disney Channel Christmas". This special was from the old Disney Channel where they used to show holiday cartoons. "Jiminy Cricket's Christmas" was the alternate VHS title based on a Disney Channel special.

You're absolutely right! The cartoons "Once Upon a Wintertime" and "The Night Before Christmas" are from the "Christmas of Enchantment" DVD.

Well I have those except Jiminy Crickets Xmas on vhs...but I have "Mickeys Xmas Carol" on vhs too.

in this thread earlier i got confused .i do have a walt disney christmas, but was thinking of & refering to walt disney favourite christmas stories on vhs.

Is the Jiminy Cricket's Christmas the same X-mas program they used to run annually as "From all of Us to All of You"? I loved that show. Is it on DVD?
