Does anyone know if this is an extremely busy time for Disneyworld?

It's post-New Years, when some schools still have off, so it'll still be busy. I'd suggest mid-late January or early-February if you want a light crowd.
Also, October and pre-Thanksgiving November is also pretty good.

Our trip was planned for December 3 - 10. However, I saw on some website that a bunch of cheerleaders and football players are going to be there that week. (My husband and I don't really care for HUGE crowds). I wanted to see Disneyworld so bad at Christmastime
My brother and his girlfriend had a trip planned for the first week in January. That is why I was trying to see about that week. She is in college and that is one of the few weeks she is free.
For the past two years, Geoff and I have gone the last week in January and it wasn't that bad. We are currently trying to pick new dates.
I was hoping you (Escapay) would respond. I know you know a lot about the crowds. Thanks for the input.

the pop warner groups arent that bad. only if u stay at all star sports then it'll be a p.i.t.a for other tourists. they tend to take over the whole hotel when visiting. But overall, early dec is a pretty dead time to go & all the holiday festivities are well under way. def go in early dec- the groups really wont be in your way too much....in fact they spend alot of time rehersing/performing more then anything.
Do u really want to miss out on mvmcp & candlelight & spectacle? Early dec is one of the better times to go.
I say go in dec & dont postpone your trip.

I went to Disney World the first week of January in 2002 and it was dead, but it was just after 9-11. I am going to Disneyland Thanksgiving weekend this year and I expect it to be packed, We have 3-Day Hopper tickets so it should not be to bad, We are also going to Goofy's Kitchen for Breakfest on Thanksgiving Day at 7:00am Made the reservations over the weekend. Were so excited

Goofy's Kitchen is the best restaurant in the world, just talking about it is making me hungry.

THE GLOCK GIRLS!!!
Earl, an ODF'er who moonlights with Disney Magic Music days and Candlelight Processional, had STORIES about CP. One had to do with the glock girls, and how during practices, they'd wear t-shirts that said "Something for Daddy".
All-Stars sucks ass, hotel wise, despite being the cheapest. So since that sports thing will take over All-Stars, maybe you (danamichelle) could go to a nice hotel like Port Orleans Riverside or Contemporary (it's only a 10 minute walk to MK!)

Back in December of 98 I went: It was crowed with some rides spcae mountain was 2hrs.
Went In July of 02)after 4th of July): It was a normal crowd the lines werent as long as the last time
Went in May of 03 On a school trip: It was deserted but we got there EARLY so thats why probblay.
Then I went this summer back in the begging of July: It was my favorite time there... Polynesian was a great hotel... the lines werent that long tower 10min rock an roll 30min and space mountain20min... and the fireworks were great
Id say the best time to go to disney is right after New Years to around Easter

Never around Easter. The crowds are just a PREVIEW of Fourth of July. In fact, it's also good to avoid March entirely as it's Spring Break month.

Glock Girls as in those gals who wear Santa Caps & sing outside Youse Guys Moichandise?
And Yes, I agree w/ u on ASRs. They're crowded, more young families then anything. Upgrade your stay to Port Orleans, Carribbean Beach or Coronado....it's still reasonable & more adults & less young families...

We just booked our trip. I decided to go the first week in January with my brother and my future sister-in-law (hopefully). I thought it would be fun to go with friends.
My first choice for the hotel, the Coronado Springs, was booked. So, we will be staying at the Caribbean. It is going to be funny staying at the Caribbean when it is cold outside.
