Anyone know of a way to get rid of the glue left behind when you peel those promotional and barcode stickers off of cardboard sleeves?

I usually use the same sticker to get it out stick/unstick procedure. also a hot damn cloth will work

There are a few household products that get the sticky stuff off real quick but you have to be careful not to get the product on the inside of the clear plastic cover...

Anyhow, Goo-gone works great and another one i've used in desperate times was WD-40. Don't ask what made me think about using it, just trust me that it works to get the really stubborn stickers off.

I just go out every month and buy like 15 brand new keepcases for a couple of bucks to replace ones with sticker residue, scratches, etc. I've never had any problems with my Disney titles, but you could easily find replacements for the all white cases from the single disc releases online. As for the SE/Platinum sets, I don't even bother trying to remove any of the stickers, etc because it would totally destroy the cardboard box. I don't understand why Disney wouldn't just put some damn shrinkwrap around these outer slipcases!

If they shrink wrap the outside then it would defeat the purpose of having the "open like a book" cover to show the extra bonus.

am i the only one who doesn't mess with taking the stickers off? i leave them for that very reason -- stickiness! urgh!

Goo-Gone usually works great, though you're right...you gotta be careful or else it will seep under the plastic and kinda ruin the cover. IT did that to my Bottle Rocket DVD. And that lemony/orange kinda smell kinda makes me sick sometimes.

I could get high with Goo-Gone it smells soooooooooooo good!

You know, I've tried everything and I can't beat nail-polish remover.
Works great on CD cases too.

Don't ask me why I have so much nail polish remover. Must be from the days when I used to dress all in black.

Well at the very least, they shouldnt litter the covers with stickers and promo than.

I jump for joy if I get a new parcel from the States. Yes, in these situations I feel like Tigger. If I had a tail like him I would bounce.

Then I open the treasure: Most I got some DVDs or a book. But then, I have to save the new DVDs for my private Disneyland.

Most DVDs are shrink-wrapped in a plastic film. I have to remove it every time.

Some DVDs I cannot open until I have removed further sticky tapes.

Then I check the DVDs and the other things that belong to the DVDs.

Oh, what’s this? A sticky anti-theft device has been to remove too.

That’s not all of them. On the box from the DVDs are more sticky buttons too. I remove then with care. I have to do it because the glue goes more and more sticky.

I have the following questions?

* Have you ever damaged some DVD at removing such devices?

* Do you remove the stickers on your DVDs, or do you let it on the package?

* Should Disney do a less sticky future on their products?
