I'm debating on wheter to get it or not.

While I do want to collect all the platinums, and it'll probably have alot of a bonus features(and a slipcover! :P ) it's actually my least favorite of the platinum movies, even if you include the 4 new ones!

Who knows. This may sound ridiculous, but sometimes when I listen to a documenary on how people put in alot of hard work to make the movie, I SOMETIMES enjoy it more.

Maybe till ROTS comes on DVD, then he'll leave us again.

I'm with T/P on this. I usually enjoy a movie more after I watch the documentary where they're subtly saying, "WE MADE THIS MOVIE WITH OUR BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS AND YOU BETTER LIKE IT OR WE'LL BE SAD!" A good example of that is hearing Rick Berman praising Star Trek: Nemesis.

Also, the commentaries are a joy to hear, usually if it's group. I haven't listened to it in a long time, but Final Destination's cast commentary is pretty fun. Too bad Cindy doesn't have a commentary.

I'm buying it Tuesday. I'm either buying it from Best Buy or Walmart. I am buying a copy for my niece who Loves Cinderella and a copy for me for my Platinums collection. Also because I love Disney Movies, too.

And, ya Escapay, you're actually probably right, lol.

Welcome back Paul - and use your posts sparingly. You will not be a Super Genius for long.

Has Vancouver fallen apart since I moved last winter? Actually headed back tonight.

What's after Super Genius?!?!

Nah, it's all same old, same old here. Controversies pass thru this place too quickly to mention 'em all.

I'm going to try to get it Tuesday, but it might be later in the week before I pick it up. Probably get it at Circuit City or Wal-Mart.

I've already posted a little about the picture and sound quality on the press release thread, but I'll post a little bit more about the bonus features second disc.

The menus for disc 2 are much more elegant and well designed.

The bonus features that are included are great, (except for the usual crappy children's fluff) but I felt that there should have been a featurette on the RESTORATION. You can tell from the picture that 1,000ands of hours were spent cleaning this thing up. How hard was it to pick up a camera and film someone actually doing it?

Now that I've watched the film 2 times, I appreciate the sound mix more when comparing it to my old Laserdisc, but it is still not quite as powerful as Bambi. The closest thing I can compare it to would either be Lady and the Tramp's Limited Issue 5.0 track, or Snow White's 5.1 mix.
The tones and clarity have been cleaned up considerably, but it basically just sounds like different parts of the same mono track coming from 6 different speakers. I'm sure they did the best they could with what they had though, and that's really all you can ask. I just don't understand why they called it an Enhanced Home Theatre Mix.

When I was younger I'd watch it all the time, somehow never cared for it later on but now that Disney's slowly building up the promotion and I'm seeing it all back I'm more excited than ever. Definitely reminds me why this used to be my favourite Disney film. It will probaply grow on me once more after I see the fantastic restoration I'm sure. Bambi did the same.

Howdy!

Sounds like it's going to be an awesome DVD! Finally, after years of watching it on a cruddy VHS, Beta, Laserdisc, CED, etc.

I agree. We had wonderful short featurettes about the restoration for Snow White, Bambi, and Sleeping Beauty. Would've been nice to see a restoration featurette for Cinderella as well.

Tomorrow is Tuesday, woohoo! Cinderella PE and Star Trek: Nemesis SCE are thisclose to being mine...

I'm getting Cindy simply because it's PE and because I wanna gloat to Kram that I got my copy cheaper than he got his, lol. And getting the ST:N:SCE would complete my Star Trek movie library, and I'll be able to rid myself of the single-discers for FC, INS, and NEM.

I cannot believe that Cinderella is finally debuting on DVD, tomorrow! I have been waiting, patientl..., well, impatiently ever since Luke spread the great news.

Every time I see the TV Spot on the tube, I die of anticipation! I'm going to pick my copy up at Wal*Mart, for $16.87.

I might spring for the Gift Set, but it is a lot of money. What do you guys think I should get?

Also, is anyone picking up the SE soundtrack? I passed on the Aladdin one, but I think I'll definitley pick this baby up. :D

Hmm, that´s something a bit disappointing to hear. Not really disappointing, as Disey usually handles well their mono-turned-to-5.1 mixes, but "Bambi" is one of my favorite mixes and certainly the best one for a mono film I´ve ever heard, so I expected "Cinderella" to be as good.

The DVD was released here in Brazil last week, but I haven´t bought it as I´ve ordered the North American Gift Set. I´m counting the hours for its arrival, hehe.

I've watched the entire disc 1 & will get to the bonus features on disc 2 after I've checked out The Fog SE & Star Trek: Nemesis SCE but as far as the movie itself to steal a line from Mary Poppins it is "practically perfect in every way". It's about the most beautiful looking movie on dvd I've ever seen.

Cinderella comes out Tomarrow!!!!!!

That makes me extremely happy!!!!!! :D I can't wait to get the DVD! I preordered the DVD gift set. If you love this movie, why the heck wouldn't you get the gift set? Unless you can afford it, that is... I mean, I know there's lots of other things you need to buy, but...so you won't eat for a few days, so what? Just kidding. But really, the gift set is a great idea for those who love Cinderella.
