can you still get the lion king pin and plush when you buy the gift set? or is that only for people who buy the regular set?

:jawdrop: Now THAT will remind me to save my money for the next couple weeks instead of buying next week's releases so I can have the box. It's truly a droolworthy pic.

Now if only Aladdin would get a box set like that, too...but something in me doubts it. Still, I really love Lion King and will be very thrilled with that box.

I can't see why it wouldn't! I'm hoping they all get released like this (the 'Platinum' that is) from now on. I guess it would depend on the sales of this one - if they are good, then we might see more groovy box sets. I've had this one on order since day one, and now it is only a few weeks off! Hurrah!

Thanks for that, Luke. It looks even more groovy at that size. I'm glad I'm saving my pennies on other things (by not ordering a 2nd copy of Sleeping Beauty for example) so I can splurge on this..

I wish "The Rescuers" would get a set like that, after all, it was a most important film in Disney history. It marked the end of Disney's original animators and the welcoming to newer ones.

:) :) :)

Hm, I wonder what happened to the original "five exclusive character portrait drawings signed and sketched by the original animators" that we've read about? It appears that Disney is now including different drawings instead or in addition to the five portrait drawings? :?

I'm *still* not getting this one (the Gift Set, that is) but I will admit it does look fantastic.

Ariel said that you can only order ''The Lion King'' Special Edition 2-Disc DVD Collector's Gift Set with 4 lithographs online.

http://disney.store.go.com/DSSectionPag ... _Id=135423 says:

I'm very, very tempted, but I think I'm going to pass. I'd rather have the Two Towers box set since it has a Gollum statue in it. But for all I know, the moment I walk in the store I might just cave and buy it.

I'm very VERY tempted to get this and I have a feeling that when I walk into the store on October 7th I'll cave in and buy it. Because of that though I may just bring enough money for the DVD and not the giftset to keep myself from buying it. :P
