Awesome controller!
It looks much better than that boomerang they have for PS3!

How can one move their character and attack at the same time when the controller is for one hand?? I personally like using two hands on the "boomerrang" controllers. Especially since they have like 12 buttons on one controller.

Who cares if it looks better than the "boomerang" PS3 controller. I'd much rather play games on that than this remote controller crap. I'd prefer comfort and design better than "prettiness"

Guys, it's not just the remote that's the controller. There are attachments to it.
Look at these pictures, credit goes to Gamespot.

Even with the attachments, I'm not sure how this controller can provide the most comfortable gaming experience, but hey, Nintendo has surprised me before, so who knows, it might not be as bad as it looks.

Nintendo has never surprised me with their products, I'll doubt this will surprise me.

okay, I don't want to judge it yet because I havent played with it yet but I really cannot imagine how that attachment thingie is gonna make it easy and comforting to play games. This looks stupid. It looks like they're just trying to outdo ony with these controversial 'new and futuristic' things but a few years from now people will probaply look back and laugh at it. I have a feeling this isn't gonna do well. The gamecube controller is really good, why not try to take that one and make it better... not a friggin remote control.

Revolution Controller Revealed
Nintendo's controller for its next-generation console system proves to be more exciting than the system's announcement.
Date: Friday, September 16, 2005Author: James 'Prophet' Fudge
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata today gave a keynote address at the Tokyo Game Show, offering his company's view of what the game industry needs to survive and revealing the Nintendo Revolutions new innovative controller. Iwata elaborated highlighted company's aim to broaden the population of video game playing market, with ideas to bring players of all stripes and ages into the fold using innovative software and hardware to get the job done.. Two shining examples highlighted in his keynote include the smash-hit sales of Nintendogs for the Nintendo DS, and the new controller that will be central to the company's upcoming console system, currently code-named Revolution.
Nintendo's new controller abandons the traditional controller held with two hands and introduced an all-new freehand-style unit held with one hand. The interface allows players to run, jump, spin, slide, shoot, steer, accelerate, bank, dive, kick, throw and score using a remote like device that senses how close to the screen the controller is, the angle of the controller, and more. If you believe the presentation by Nintendo, when picked up and pointed at the screen, the controller gives a lightning-quick element of interaction, sensing motion, depth, positioning and targeting dictated by movement of the controller itself. The controller also allows for a variety of expansions, including a "nunchuk" style analog unit (with the Nintendo style toggle) offering the enhanced game-play control hard-core gamers are used to.
"The feeling is so natural and real, as soon as players use the controller, their minds will spin with the possibilities of how this will change gaming as we know it today," explains Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president. "This is an extremely exciting innovation – one that will thrill current players and entice new ones."
The response from publishers worldwide has been extremely positive. Beyond its other innovations, the new controller gives third parties flexibility, allowing them the option to use as many or as few of the controller features as they desire. In addition, incorporated technology will easily allow games from the NES, SNES, N64 and Nintendo GameCube generations to be controlled in familiar fashion. This is important because The Revolution will be offering these games in a "Games on Demand" service to be launched at some point on the system.
You can check out Nintendo's Keynote Address by hitting this Link . We'll have more on this controller as details emerge, but check out these controller pictures and scenes from the video shown during Nintendo's presentation at TGS. The Revolution will launch sometime in early 2006.

I think it's so funny how people judge something, without actually using the product.
The controller will blow EVERY controller that came before, away.
It uses sensors, which are attached to the side of the television screen, and tracks, and reacts to your commands.
Don't judge this, until you've played with the thing.

So far I think it looks interesting. This could be either hit or miss. I'm going to wait until I can actually use one though.
Also there is a analog thumbstick that attaches to it, and the Revolution will be able to use Gamecube controllers.
As far as the PS3 and the 360. The 360s controller looks a lot better than the PS3. The new "boomerang" design is horrible. So far I haven't met anyone that actually likes it. I bet before to long they will have a PS2 style controller for the PS3. As a fan of the Controller S of the XBox I really like the layout and design of the 360. Although personally Im going to wait for some price drops before I pick one up.

Nintendo made a huge mistake back on the 90´s releasing the N64 as a cassete game system
Then he released the GC, which didn´t was really effective because of the tinny discs
Now this control is showed as a new "revolutionary concept"
I wonder if Shugero Miyamoto can afford all that failures

hopefully it is a fake.

There is NO chance of that as it came from a real Nintendo site.

Well I'm sorry you hate this so much, but I'm kinda liking it!
As for the prettiness at least I didn't buy a DVD just for the slipcover.

The N64 and the Gamecube both made money. I would hardly call them failures. Actually the only Nintendo system I would call a failure would be the Virtual Boy.
Nintendo made a profit off every Gamecube sold while Microsoft and Sony were losing money on their systems. Microsoft and Sony may be making a profit now off the consoles though since the systems are 4 and 5 years old.
I just hope the Revolution launches less than $300. The 360 being $399 (yeah there is a core system, but after you buy a mem card, etc... its almost $400) and the PS3 rumored to be more, Nintendo needs to be less expensive. I think Microsoft might even edge out Sony in the US next gen. The XBox has slowly gained a following, and if Sony jacks up the price to $500 or more for the PS3 because of Blu-Ray, personally I think that will just make more people turn to the 360. Even though rumors say otherwise I think the PS3 will need to launch at $400 to compete with the 360 next year.

It should also be noted that, while this controller is one option, Nintendo has made the Revolution compatible with the GameCube controller (there are slots in the back of the system for four of them). Also, Nintendo has announced that a "traditional controller" shell will be made, so that the new controller can fit inside of this, in the event the gamer would like to play, using a more traditional controller.
IGN.com has more information, and a mock-up, here:
http://cube.ign.com/articles/651/651559p1.html
People who are denouncing this controller, and the new system, without even playing it, really should get ALL of the facts, before making a decision. Of course, I would call most of those (not all) who are hating on the Revolution, fanboys of other systems.
