Which film do you like better: Snow White or Beauty and the Beast.

Snow White for me. This is due mainly to nostalgic reasons. After viewing the platinum edition, I liked it a lot more. The music was memorable (who could forget heigh-ho?), the characters were funny (the seven dwarfs) and I loved all those 5 bucks a gag. Beauty and the Beast is an OK Disney movie, didn't find anything special

I'm with Chay Chay on this one.

Snow White was more groundbreaking, but BATB was the better movie.

While I do love Snow White for it's music, characters and for the fact that this is the one that started it all Beauty and the Beast was pretty much a better movie.

For me, nothing has, does, or will ever beat Beauty and the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast

I can't wait for the day when a really genius guy (or gal, no discrimination, here  ) makes a Best 100 Animated Features list and leaves Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs off, citing the fact that just because something is "groundbreaking" doesn't mean it's great. It's not even the first animated film, which is so proudly claims. The one that really started it all was The Adventures of Prince Achmed.

I actually heard about that, however Snow White was the first animated movie to be released in America. Plus I doubt "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" had nearly as good animation as Snow White.

Plus do you really think there are 100 better animated movies than Snow White?

Beauty&theBeast because there's more magic and romance in it. :)

Beauty & The Beast. It's my 2nd favorite overall though behind The Little Mermaid

Beauty and the Beast, even though it's the 10th most mistake filled movie of all time, http://www.moviemistakes.com/top.php it still has great moments that make up for it. I liked the songs and Alan Menken's score. And oh yea, the one part the whole movie is all about: The Ballroom!

I do. If we're talking about international cinema, then yes, definately. Also, I would include "adult" films too, like Waking Life and Akira. Basically, if I were coming up with a top 100 list, mine would be totally based on whether the film is great, unique, original, and advances the form. You can argue that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs does all of those, but that doesn't change the fact that I fall asleep have of the way through.

Beauty & The Beast here.

Surprised to see B&B to be the 10 highest movie mistake movie ever. Nice list but how in the world does Ed Wood's Plan Nine From Outer Space NOT be on the list.

I'm against everyone else. I think Beauty and the Beast is an amazing movie but Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has always been one of my favourites. BATB has an excellent story but I've always been much more enthralled in the story of Snow White and while BATB has some great animation I just love the classic look of Snow White over that.

I like Beauty and the Beast tons more. Snow White's like in the dark ages, where everyone's views and morals were so black and white they couldn't ever be live up to. Snow White's too passive, the Queen's far too inhuman (there's nothing real about her to me, unlike other villains) and unentertaining (as a villain), the songs are rather dull and the character development is slack to none. The Dwarves probably had the most personality of all the characters.

In fact, although there are some things that are the same (like a vanity-motivated villain that uses a magic mirror to see his competition, house-cleaners and a damsel/beauty), I find B&tB much more realistic and life-like (as much as an animated movie can be). Whereas Snow White gives no reasoning for the marriage that's assumed at the end, B&tB focuses on presenting that.
