I agree this would be a fantastic SE, but there are just too many films at the front of the line, I'm sure. Which probably explains why we got the pathetic release we got...to tide us over for a few years while they work through their list.

Miss Bianca says: But if we work together and have a little faith...
Penny says: That's what Rufus says, faith makes things turn out right.

Personally, I believe each and every Disney movie deserves a 2-disc treatment, even ones I'm not a big fan of like The Aristocats because all of these films have their share of fans. All these films have had so much work put into them that the people who put all their time and energy into creating them deserve to be noted in bonus material clips.
You know, that Rescuers quote is interesting since I've waited and waited for 3 and a half years for an Alice in Wonderland: SE, and one is finally coming out in January. Keep your faith up because:
1. When you wish upon a star, everything your heart desires will come to you
2. If you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true
Ok, yes, I'm bored.

I share your enthusiasm - but an online petition holds NO weight with Disney. Call 1-800-72-DISNE and express your disappointment, they'll take your name and address. Even then, I don't think it will make a difference how many people call, but at least they log your info.

also to add to luke's post. tell them you don't want any Pan & Scam DVDs! only Widescreen! and that you will not purchased dvd that don't come in their correct ratio!

I'd like to see one, but why bother with a FS transfer, too? FS is for VHS, and since The Rescuers is only 1.66:1, they can tell people to use the zoom feature for a FS version, like they did with BATB and TP.

Isn't it a good enough DVD? Why would you need a 2-disc when you already got a good version of the DVD with anamorphic widescreen and
5.1 sound?Why?

If you are referring to the current release of
The Rescuers, no it is NOT good enough. Not by a long shot. I don't care that there is little in the way of extras and the like. What bothers me immensely is the lousy transfer that is on this DVD. It is not clean, crisp or remotely pleasant to look at. In fact, it reminds me of a cheaply made product that was rushed to market with no regard for quality.
I wouldn't even say Disney gave us a 50% effort on this one. 25% is probably way too generous. I'm thoroughly disappointed that Disney put this garbage on the market, as all of us true fans deserve much better.

Not only would I suggest following the instructions suggested above by Luke about calling the 1-800-# , but I'd also click the following link
http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/movie ... 61803.html
on this page you see a
CAST YOUR VOTE link...click it, and when the next page loads you'll see a
comment and suggest link, click this and fill it out and send it, supposedly, this is a more direct link to Buena Vista Home Video. But like Luke also said, BVHV has a internal schedule for releasing and re-releasing films that only them and God in heaven really know. I'm all for seeing people get what they want out of life but due to the fact that this film has JUST been re-released I wouldn't hold my breath on this....

i know this will make Tangela faint with horror, but I have never seen the Rescuers, the Rescuers Down Under or the Black Cauldron.
