Hello! I just recently went into my local blockbuster to rent Toy Story for my little nephew (i was getting tired of Shrek) and they had the 10th anniversary release!!! At first I thought it was a mistake coz I remeber it said on hear that it wasn't coming out until Septemember 6th, but Blockbuster had 08/16/05 as the release date on the top of the box. Then I checked back hear and seen it was the same cover and everything. Although I'm not sure if it's really out to buy, or just for rent, or if Blockbuster got it early and wasn't supposed to put it out quite yet. But it was there, so look around!

i'm guessing that your Blockbuster got it in early and accidently placed it on it's shelves. It's not uncommon that stores will start getting the shipments of these movies weeks earlier than their release date.

That's what I'm guessing too. I wish I had a camera so I could take a pic of the second disk, which I noticed isn't on here. Oh, well. Maybe I'll see if I could take a pic with my phone then try to use bluetooth to connect to my computer (can you even do that? haha, I mean I've heard it before but I've just never done it, I'll go through the manual). Thanks for reading

Howdy!

Man, I wish every store was like that! Releasing DVDs just a couple days or so before the actual release date! I hope the release date part is just "recommended" (ala "MSRP - insert dollar amount here"). Then the world would be a happier place! :D

My heart is racing! I want to get it this weekend so I can enjoy watching when it's not a school night and I can play with all the special features. :D

Off to the stores I go!

(That means I'll miss all of the cool promotions they might have for the DVD release, oh well.)

For all who will buy it:

ENJOY! :D

I´m not buying them, those are nice movies but that´s all, at least for me

We used to have a local store that would have movies out about a week before the release. Haven't seen that happen in awhile though. I'd love to pickup Toy Story this weekend, but I'm just going to wait and get it at Circuit City for $14.99 Tuesday.

I finally saw a commercial on TV tonight for the DVD.

That's how I got mine on Wednesday (8/31) at a local Mom&Pop video store, Bandit Video. Of course, I had to play $24.95 instead of waiting until getting it at Wal-Mart for probably a mere $15, but I got it simply for bragging rights ("Haha, Kram! I bought Toy Story!" and "Woohoo, UD! I got Toy Story!"), and because I was itching to see the bonus features. Watched most of the features on Wednesday night, and also watched the movie with the commentary.

I wish I could get a copy early. It's actually illegal for those places to sell them early. Report Blockbuster and maybe someone will get into a lot of trouble. (if you are feeling evil)

Will there be a set in Christmas that includes both sets coming out? 1 & 2?

No. Toy Story 2 is being released on the 26th, and BVHE would have to be especially shrewd to do a new box set with the two cases months after Toy Story has been available. I could see it happening holidays 2006 around the time Cars comes to DVD, but then who wants to wait that long for what would probably only be a new cardboard box and the existing DVDs?

I went to Blockbuster just now to look for Toy Story, and I found it on the shelf! I took it the counter to buy and they scanned it to check if there is any in the back; then they found out it wasn't supposed to be on the shelf. Oh well, it was great feeling finding it when it wasn't supposed to be released yet. :)

Man, if one of my local stores had it for sale today, that would make one great birthday gift for myself. But, since my birthday is tomorrow and the DVD doesn't come until Tuesday, I guess I'll have to get as a belated birthday present.

I swear the preview on Lilo and Stitch 2 says December 27. Everywhere else I've seen says the 26th, though....

You're correct. The trailer on I believe the recent Ghibli releases does too, but like you say, everything else says the 26th, so I take it that's the right one. We should be getting press releases soon for that, Kronk's New Groove, Lady and the Tramp, and Bambi II.
