If You Can Dream (The Disney Princesses)

Who is your favourite Disney Princess? (And I don't just mean the central six- Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella and Jasmine but who is your favourite out of them all?)
I had to have a big think about this and I really am tourn between three Disney Princesses. I really love Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and was going to put her as my favourite but then both Ariel (TLM) and Meg (Hercules) popped into my head. Once I've seen some replies I think it should be easier for me to make up my mind...

This has been asked a lot, but my favorites are Aurora, Ariel, and Pocahontas.
I have a Disney princess blanket (with Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle on it) and a Cinderella throw pillow.

I would get a Disney princess backpack, but I'm afraid that kids are going to throw rocks at me.

My favorite Disney girl(out of the "good" ones, anyway)'s always been Megara. Ariel's another. She reminds me of myself sometimes. Unintentionally selfish (she would put others' safety first if she thought beforehand, though she mostly doesn't think ahead), unconventional, frowned upon, basically making mistakes everytime you turn around and willing to do anything to reach happiness (something beyond material worths). She's not snobbish and is often too trusting of people (even obviously evil sea witches), yet still manages to somehow acquire a happy enough ending.
But I'm sure there's another topic for this (positively).

Hmmm...
Generally, I'm not a fan of the "Disney Princess" gang (especially when lumped together, as in the disastrous video releases). However, Jasmine did have some hilarious lines in "Aladdin", so I'd have to say she's my favorite.
It's worth noting I could well be the only person on here who doesn't like Snow White. (Not the film, the princess.) Hey, why not raise another question: who's your favorite Disney prince?

I find it interesting that the Disney Princesses marry so young. I believe that Ariel is the youngest at a confirmed 16.

Princess Aurora met and fell in love with Prince Phillip on her 16th birthday, and I assume they didn't wait more than a couple months to get hitched. (In the original fairy tales, both girls were only 15, I think.

In real life history, Pocahontas was only 12 or 13

! Then again, she was really not romantically involved with John Smith.
My favorite Disney heroine is Mulan because she's really a trooper. She not only risked her life and family honor to save her father's, but also had to pretend to be a man and live with a group of them for weeks/months. It's not that I have anything against males, it's just that, to be honest, we can get pretty disgusting.
For the real legitimate Disney princess, I guess my favorite is Pocahontas b/c she sang the best and had the best songs.

Considering that, in old times where these movies take place in, women often married even younger, I can hardly hold that against the movies. In fact, some girls married (or
were married would be the better expression, since many marriages were arranged) at 11 and 12. But, back then, people didn't live to be too old, so there wasn't much time to lose.
Besides, I don't consider age making a difference in why someone marries. Sure, I wouldn't marry at 16, but I could understand if two people actually did "fall in love" at that age.

I love Esmeralda, Pocahontas, Mulan and Jane. They're nonconformists and independent....I like that.

I love Jasmine, though every single one of them appeal to me for many different reasons, even the heroines and the non-mains like Jane, Atta, etc. I'm not going to write them out though.

I had a think and I have to say Ariel's probably my girl but Aurora's not far behind. It is true that all the Disney girls do seem to marry young and I have to agree that Snow White can be a little bit irritating (especially when singing? What is with her quaky voice).
My favourite Disney Prince would defiantly be Eric but that may just be because of Ariel and the fact that 'The Little Mermaid' movie all round is my favourite Disney movie of all.

I think my favorite is Belle. We both have brown hair and eyes( I'm a little french also). We both like reading and can quite stubborn at times.
I don't see why everyone hates Snow White. Her voice isn't that annoying and sure, she can be a little ditzy at times but other than that, what's not to like about her? She's kind and all that she ever wants to is help people. Plus, she's the first Disney princess. You can't hate on the first Disney princess.
I can't really understand why Ariel has such a big fanbase. Don't get me wrong, she beautiful and she's a mermaid which is pretty cool but she does something pretty selfish. She is willing to never see her father or sisters again so she just spend time on some guy she has a crush on. Well, then again she is young and naive. I don't hate Ariel (unlike my aunt) I just wanna know why so many people love her.
Okay, On to the other princesses,
Cinderella: I love Cindy. She's so elagant and classy.
Aurora: In my opinion, The most gorgeous Disney princess ever.
Jasmine: Jasmine is so cool! She's a lady yet she stands up for her self as well.

It might have a lot to do with her being beautiful (since many people side her along with Aurora as their favorites, and Aurora's personality was close to nothing), but that's not the only reason
I like her. I've never thought the whole bargain was selfish at all. The whole movie portrayed her as not being very close to her family. We only see her sisters 3 times (she was closer to a fish than she was to them) and her father tried to completely control her life (He was trying to protect her, we know, but he could've just said that outright to her instead of blowing up her grotto to "make her understand"). I just find it rather charming that she would sell her soul just so she could experience real happiness outside of material possessions ("But who cares? No big deal. I want more...").
Besides, to say she's selfish makes it sound as if she doesn't care about her family at all. She may not devote her whole life to them, as someone like Mulan does, but she DOES care about them. She would never want her father to be taken in by Ursula in her place, but she was duped in her desperate want to explore curiosity.

Belle, since bookworms rock.
I almost wanted to say Mulan, but since she doesn't get married to a prince and considering how low my opinion of Disney's version of the tale is...
(Did I mention in some versions of the tale Mulan turns down the emperor's offer to become his concubine and commits suicide instead? Just goes to show not every story has a happy ending...)

Well, you're probably right. There's no denying that she loved her father and sisters alot. perhaps it was more of a stupid descision rather than selfish one.
