No Dave Stevens interview on the Rocketeer DVD?

That's pretty lame given the whole reason the movie was made was Stevens comic books being a nationwide phenomenon that still makes it hard to find any of the issues at a decent price. I realize this could be due to Stevens not wanting to do an interview, but how about a retrospective at least?

It should have been a Touchstone anyway, because the edginess of the story based on 1940s pulp magazines was lost with the "family friendly" restrictions (and the copyright fear over "Jenny" who was meant to be a Bettie Page homage).

Yeah, the lack of extras was disappointing and I agree with you that it seems a better candidate for Touchstone than Disney. Somewhat like Dick Tracy.

At least it's widescreen - you look at the other Disney movies from around that time - White Fang, Cheetah, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Honey I Blew Up the Kid...and well it makes you thankful that it was released to DVD 4 years ago instead of last year. Still, it could look a lot better, and some insight into the comic books and plan to release sequels like a serial. Plus, they certainly had a making-of featurette from '91 to talk about the special FX and whatnot.
