Could 9.11 get any worse year-after-year?
We lose a music icon and a genuinely funny and endearing actor, the latter of which was actually on teh set of his sitcom when he was afflicted.

Very, very sad.

Yeah - has it really been 30 years since those 10,000 people in Chile died at the hands of a CIA sponsored military coup?

And I think more kids died in developing countries today than did on September 11 2001.

A Korean farmer committed suicide in protest of the plight of farmers around the world facing the WTO's devastating policies today (well, yesterday for me) in Cancun.

Yep, it COULD get a lot worse.

LONG LIVE JOHNNY CASH!

He is having the best sex with June Carter on a cloud right now. Go Johnny Go!

Also Three's Company and Problem Child were the best! The man was only 54 and had like 6 children. That's really sad and unfortunate. All the best to his loved ones...

LOL! I've always loved that picture.

Anyways...

I hate when people die out of nowhere like this, it's so upsetting. Especially since it was a cool guy like John Ritter. I always liked Three's Company (well, who doesn't?) and I was just starting to get into 8 Simple Rules as well.

Johnny Cash too, I can't say I was his biggest fan or anything, but I was just starting to get into his music, cause I seem to have been missing out all these years. Although it's not as much of a shock as John Ritter, it's still just as sad.

Hope they're both in a better place.

It still sucks though. :(

When I heard this I was in disbelief. Two great entertainers passing away in the same day. Very, very, very sad. My heart goes goes out to their families.

No problem. It is pretty comfy down here actually.

Cash is dead. Long live Cash.

This post brought to you by 'Ring of Fire' and the Cash cover of Trent Reznor's (NIN) 'Hurt'.

Both are unfortunate losses, and Ritter's death is obviously a complete shock. It's weird to think that yesterday he was working on an episode and felt tired and a few hours later, he's dead. Very sad. :(

It is extremely sad, he was so young, unlike Johnny Cash who has basically been living on borrowed time since the 50's.

Did you know that Ritter even threw out some words to live by, he always had a flare for the dramatic. He said "life is like a cookie and your friends are the chocolate chips", just before he went out. Again RIP to both of them.

As for two entertainers dying on the same day...Eric Carr, the long time drummer for KISS (much longer than Peter Criss) and Freddy Mercury died on the same day - November 24, 1991. Man, I hate that day...

What was that you were saying about showing everyone respect the other day?

Well, he is dead now, so I guess you can go back to using your head for more productive purposes.

And these things always come in threes.
Is there another famous John?

It does seem kind of in bad taste to post in a "R.I.P Thread" to say that someone's music sucks.

I just hope his record label doesn't turn him in a elvis presley or 2pac. even after dead they keep putting cds and new singles out

MMB, i'm glad that you can post your opinion here in the safety of this forum. don't mess up and say that out loud somewhere. very large men who are very big fans of johnny cash would be very unhappy with you.

i agree, bad taste in this thread. :( put it in the "johnny cash sucks" thread.

i watched the E! Hollywood story on "three's company" this morning. it was so odd to think of John Ritter gone...

our prayers go out to their families
