Early Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Specs

Here are some specs I found at BBFC's site:

Fantastic Mr. Dahl (18 minutes)
Different Faces, Different Flavors (11 minutes)
Holiday Hobbies (10 minutes)
Attack of the Squirrels! (10 minutes)
Designer Chocolate (10 minutes)
Under the Wrapper (7 minutes)
Becoming Oompa Loompa (7 minutes)
Sweet Sounds (7 minutes)
Chocolate Dreams (7 minutes)
Easter Egg #1: Augustus Gloop Dance Number (2 minutes)
Easter Egg #2: Mike Teavee Dance Number (2 minutes)

I'm really wondering what's up with those easter eggs. Are they extended and/or unedited versions of the Oompa Loompa dance numbers? From what I understand, the soundtrack versions are longer than the film versions. Having only seen the film once and heard the soundtrack versions multiple times, I can't really vouch for this, but it's probably true. There's no word, yet, if this will be a 2-Disc edition, but I'm sure it will be considering: a) the film is doing astoundingly well at the box office, and b) there's 91 minutes' worth of supplements thus far, which is really pushing it for a single disc edition.

The DVD has a supposed release date of November 8th.

I really hope it's a two-disc DVD, and it HAS to include a chapter insert.

It's true that the oompa-loompa songs are shorter in the movie than the soundtrack.

I really can't wait for this, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory was a much better adaption than the Willy Wonka version.

Thanks for posting the specs, Disneykid, but I'll pass. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a good movie and a great improvement over the tripped out original, but Willy Wonka had never been a keepsake character for me. He's movies only taste good in moderated does. :)

I'm hoping for a 2 disc. I'll still buy it if it's a 1 disc, though.

I absolutly loved the Charlie and the chocolate factory re-make. I thought Johnny Depp was absolutly perfect in that movie.

I wouldn't say "perfect" but I thought he was pretty funny! Johnny Depp defeated alot of people to get this part including: Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Christopher Walken, Nicolas Cage, Michael Keaton, Marilyn Manson, Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler.

Anyway for some sad reason I doubt it'll get a 2-Disc Edition. But even if it doesn't get one, I'll still buy it because it was my 3rd favorite movie of the year(behind Batman Begins and Star Wars).

I'll just give it a rent or I might go see it for $1.50 at the cheap show.

I can't see any of them as Willy Wonka. But I guess that's only because I can't imagine them as Willy Wonka correctly.

More specs added in the first post:

Fantastic Mr. Dahl (18 minutes)
Holiday Hobbies (10 minutes)
Attack of the Squirrels! (10 minutes)
Under the Wrapper (7 minutes)

I think it's safe to assume that this is a 2-Disc set, now.

On The Digital Bits website, one of the people who run it had taken a survey of what his opinion of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was. After he took it, he heard people talking about CATCF getting the same DVD treatment like The Polar Express and Batman Begins - a single-disc edition and a more elaborate 2 disc edition released on the same day.

But count this as a rumor until Warner officially announces the DVD. It could be just a 2 disc release for all we know.

I'm sure this movie will have be a 2-Disc. And if it contains anymore discs than that, for sure I'll be picking up the edition with the most features and discs. :)

Haha, that would've been really odd.

Well, perhaps they'll do a single disc for kids and a 2-disc for collectors ala Lemony Snicket but either way, I want a 2-disc.
