Nightmare Before Christmas Box Set - Hot Topic Exclusive?

Has anyone seen this set before?

Apparently it was an exclusive limited run distributed through Hot Topic in the States...

http://www.dvdworld.nu/fodral.php?id=589

It looks to be the exacty same disc packaged in an elaborate coffin-style box with a nightlight and some other useless crap...

I want to get more info on the packaging though if anyone has seen this in person or owns this set.

It looks like the box is a soft cardboard material...

I want to know if it is specifically meant to house the nightlight head and dvd or if it just a sort of "throw-away" packaging like the Universal monster sets with the busts or the Lord Of The Rings Platinum sets or whatever they were called that also had the statues? The kind that you toss in the trash after removing the contents...

Is it actually meant to be stored and displayed on shelf or simply to house the inner content until the packaging is opened?

Is it a sturdy box or is it cheaply made? Will it properly hold *just* TNBC dvd after the nightlight is removed or will the case be clanking around inside and not properly secured? Is the inside of the coffin just a hollow and empty box? Are there indents to securely place the content, dvd, etc?

My R1 Canadian disc is a little scuffed up and has seen better days so I was looking to replace the dvd regardless and was gonna order from a US retailer. I just want to know if this is worth the extra cost and if it's a quality set?

Thanks!

Wonder if Corpse Bride will bring out the popularity of this DVD back up enough for a proper anamorphic release.

The Japanese also love The Nightmare Before Christmas for some strange reason.

We own it. Bought it last year at Hot Topic. (Yes, it's a HOT TOPIC Exclusive) It's really neat, though I've never put the nightlight to use. :p

So lemme answer your questions:

Dude, you don't throw anything anway. Everything that comes with it is meant to hold everything. The box is hard and sturdy.
Is it actually meant to be stored and displayed on shelf or simply to house the inner content until the packaging is opened?
The Box can be displayed. If you put the lid behind the box, you can choose to display it. And it also holds everything, the nightlight, "crap" and the DVD.
I haven't removed the nightlight nor put it to use so I wouldn't know. It 'houses' what's meant to be in there. So (I think) if you remove the nightlight, nothing else will be loose in there.
I just want to know if this is worth the extra cost and if it's a quality set?
And it cost $29.99 at HT. 8)
Was it worth it? Heck yes, especially for us. I went crazy when I saw it. I love TNBC and the box was just a nice touch.

*side note: I was a bit scared...when I went into HT. It's so dark. >_< But they have nice track jackets! 8)

I know what you mean! There's this Asian girl who sometimes catches my bus to school, and she has this 'Nightmare Before Christmas' wallet! I thought that I'd be the only person on my bus who knew about it!

And what's so wrong with that? Tim Burton has always had a large goth following and having seen TNBC in a packed sneak preview screening months before it was released I can assure you there were goths watching it back then too (it's hardly a new thing)!

I'd expect Disney fans to be slightly more tolerant of other people's interests.
