TVGuide.com wrote:Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, now in postproduction and due to hit theaters Nov. 18, has been slapped with a PG-13 rating — a first for the blockbuster franchise — due to "sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images" and one reference to that "horrible, ----------ing son of a -------, Voldemort." The first three films, Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, all received PG ratings.

TVGuide.com is reporting that the fourth movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, has been slapped with a PG-13 rating due to "sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images." If this is confirmed, GOF is the first of the Potter films to receive this rating by the MPAA. We're working on getting confirmation from Warner Brothers. Stay tuned.

Wow. Very interesting.

However, this still won't stop families from bringing their children though.

I'm looking forward to it. I really want the movie of Order of the Phoenix to come out now!

This is great news because it shows that the filmmakers aren't backing down on the mature elements like they did with the first two. I wonder who calls Voldemort a "horrible, ----------ing son of a ------." Context would say Harry, but I can't imagine him saying that. Logic tells me that Ron probably says it, or maybe an adult like Mad Eye Moody. Here's hoping the rest of the series remains in the PG-13 zone.

Cool news. Good to know that they aren't going to water anything down too much to make it more family friendly. I think the PG-13 will drive down the box office a little though because families with younger children will wait for the DVD so they can view the movie in a more controlled environment.

Yay for bravery on WB's part (not to mention Newell's and Klove's). But w:ow at that profanity, if it's true... or is that just TV Guide joking?

Yeah but parents will still let there children (who are under 13) watch it. I hate that! It's a PG-13 movie it could have intense violence or what not which is not sutible for little kids! Then they start asking questions "what's going on? Why did he/she do that? Where am I?" just makes me wanna tell them to shut there pie-hole! That is when I watch it in the theater.

Anyway's about Harry Potter I've never seen a single movie or will I never so I really don't care. I just think that nobody else should care, I mean Star Wars III was PG-13 and not a whole lot of people complained about it. I mean it made sence because you watch Anikin get melted in lava... oops I ruined it... silly me... but I'm sure most of you seen the movie anyways.

Really....... I think that there are more teenagers who think the movies are too childish than kids not being allowed to see it. I think more of the 15-20 range will go to see this (15-25 is the majority of moviegoers) I am very proud of WB doing this, proves they listen to JK when she says that these books are not made for the kids. They are meant for the teenage group. Go WB!! :pink: :pink: :D :D

I already knew that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was going to get a PG-13 rating because it's for teens and adults also has more violence
So , I think HP:ATOOTF and HP:ATHBP are going to be PG-13 but not Rated- R.
Okay, I'm a Harry Potter fan.... I'm just started reading Harry Potter and teh Half-Blood Prince today. :D

LOL! I love that! Im sure that none of them will get an "R" rating. That is a little more mature that the target age.
