Best Buy and Disney.

I bought the collector edition just 2 months ago on special from Best buy. Now a special edition is coming out. I feel forced to buy it because of the slip cover. Should I buy it?
Why does Disney have to do this?
To make us waste our money, I think Best buy must of known about it being re-released.

Umm, the Collector's Edition of what? Tarzan? The Emperor's New Groove? The Toy Story/Toy Story 2 Ultimate Toy Box?
Disney isn't trying to be evil with these re-releases. The SE's of Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, and the Toy Story films aren't meant to replace the old Collector's Edition. They're simply reissues for those who missed the releases the first time around. Best Buy doesn't find out about these releases that far ahead of time. They find out about them shortly before release dates are announced and press releases issued.
I don't think you should upgrade just for a slipcover. It's a piece of cardboard. You're going to spend 20 bucks on a release you already have for a piece of cardboard?

Merman, if you're interested, the special edition re-release of
The Emperor's New Groove is essentially a reissue of the old 1 discer, meaning that your collector's edition is more useful than ever! Plus, I actually think that the thicker covers look nicer than titles in slipcovers.

He's speaking of TENG seeing as it's the only CE available from Best Buy.
Best Buy still sells what they have to get rid of it and make room for the newer editions. C'mon, you see it in their aisles. Plus, they'll know people will buy it.
I don't think your "slipcover reasoning" is..smart.

But if you do feel like wasting $20 for a slipcover and having your Disney DVDs uniformed, then go ahead. Personally, I think it isn't worth it to double dip unless the newer edition has something GREAT to offer. But it is your money, and you should spend it however you want.
Asking us "Should I buy it?" because of the slipcover...well, that's not a great question because you'll just get criticism for it, IMO.

If he really IS speaking of TENG then he should not be complaing as the SE has much less than the CE does and wanting a slipcover THAT much is a bit unreasonable.(sorry if that sounded rude)

Really? That was proven? Or are you just going by what was on the fact sheet?
If it is true, I think I'll go hug my TENG Collector's Edition for a few hours.
Merman, whatever movie you're talking about, don't upgrade just because of a piece of cardboard that's worth absolutely nothing. The only reason you should have to upgrade is if the new release has way more bonus features and better picture and sound quality.

Well if you want TENG for the slipcover go for it. All I know is that TENG: CE will be way better then TENG:SE.
TENG: SE is only coming out to support Kronk's New Groove.

I was judging by the fact sheet, and I honestly think that it will stay like that. There is no sign of 2 Discs in the mini press release, and people have stated that aside from the preview for
Kronk's New Groove, there is just the same material as the 1 disc edition.

And in future news, Alan will read this topic and save money for TENG: SE. Just because of a slipcover.

has any one proven that the upcoming TENG:SE is only 1-disc? judging from Tarzan: SE, Disney re-released this movie as 2-discs.
