Ratatouille is not a Disney Pixar film, it is Pixar only. Cars is, sadly, the last Disney Pixar movie.

I believe the new CEO Bob Iger said he would first do 2 things as the new CEO:

1. Hire back the traditional animators that were laid-off & bring back traditional animation at the Walt Disney Studios.
&
2. Try to get Disney & Pixar to work together again.

Hello people, long time lurker here, but after months of just reading I figured I might as wel join this great place of Disney resources.

"I believe the new CEO Bob Iger said he would first do 2 things as the new CEO:

Reading that gave me goosebumps, really. It would be so great if Disney started making traditional animation again. When I heard the 2D studio was shut down, it really... well... hurt, actually. Those were the kind of movies I grew up with, it was just unnatural thinking no other 2d disney would ever see the light of day, although I must say what I've seen so far from "Lilo and Stitch 2" and "Bambi 2", they really pushed up the quality of their direct to DVD releases. But still, it doesn't match seeing a traditional disney in theaters. So, let's keep our fingers crossed. Does this new CEO also mean that Roy Disney will be back on the studio? I think his reason to leave was an argument with the old CEO? Anyway, great to be here.

Once Cars is released to theaters in 2005, Pixar is free to do their first "non-Disney" movie one year later, which means that Ratatouille, the next project in the pike, should find itself in theaters sometime in 2006. Amusingly, by virtue of the very concept of the film itself, there are ample opportunities for potshots at Disney. It tells the story of the many adventures of a rat named Ratatouille who makes his home in an upscale Parisian restaurant that is ruled by a strange but world-famous chef.

I'm excited! I'm a big fan of Pixar and the story sounds interesting.

Sounds like a promising movie plot. Pixar doesn't have a distributor for it yet, do they? If they do, I haven't heard about it. If they don't, then I wouldn't be at all surprised if it ends up a Disney-Pixar film after all.
