Hello guys

MMB is going to teach you a secret to get better 5.1 on the upcoming SB DVD.
If you have a reciever and you can manipulate the front, left , right and surround volumes then here's what you need to set them at to make the 5.1 mix sound alot better!

Front Speaker - I put this speaker on 0 DB this speakers goes down to -20DB and up to +6DB since this channel is what Disney has used to do the talking is the most active. its kinda too loud and takes away from the others speakers so 0DB for me makes it all even yay!

Right + Left Speakers - ok, with the center even out you will now hear this do their things! I set both of this to 24 on regular volume.

Surrounds - now that the center speaker is not loud and trying to be greety you will experience the greatest Stereo-phonic soundtrack ever made in the 1950's this is the original way Walt Disney want it. so all you need to so is put your speakers up to +6DB

Just a question though: Don't you want the dialogue to be louder than the other sounds? Otherwise, it seems like it would get mixed among the music and the sound effects.

yes but the problem is that Disney mixers like to use the center channel alot and the center channel itself has alot of bass and it hides the other sounds if you put it at 0db it all blends in making it all balanced and not overwhelming or trying to compete with the other speakers lol

My 5.1 setup for my computer is designed so that I always have to turn up the surrounds quite a bit compared to the rest to get a decent surround mix. Well, not for all films, but the way the speakers' volumes designed, I don't know what gives.

you're welcomed! tell me how you like it using those settings, if you find a even better combination, i hope you share it with us hehe but i think you'll like those settings as it has a more surround feel to it.
