I read this article on the BCDB and was quite surprised. 20% of actors, musicians, and athletes say they identify with Goofy more than any other Disney animated character. Here's the article:
Big Cartoon Database wrote:Twenty per cent of 45 actors, musicians and athletes polled recently for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts identify with Goofy more than any other Disney animated character.

But folks who'll never make the A-list are Goofy over Mickey Mouse's best friend, too. Some 15% of 8,000 consumer respondents chose Goofy as the character they relate to the most.

The "Golden Ears" survey was conducted by independent research firm Directive Analytics in time for Disneyland's 50th anniversary, which is coming up Sunday.

Stars who identify with Goofy include John Stamos, Kelsey Grammer and Jim Belushi. However, David Arquette, Peyton Manning and Terry Bradshaw are partial to Donald Duck.

Of those who'd make the most desired Disney celebrity travel companion, Oprah Winfrey led the way at 16%. In second place was Clint Eastwood at 11%, while Mary Poppins star Julie Andrews came third at 8%.

Singers Avril Lavigne and Ashanti both know the words to "It's a Small World," according to the survey.

Arquette and his wife, Courteney Cox, both chose the Haunted Mansion as their favorite Disney theme park attraction.
So what do you think? Which character do you most identify with? Do you think Goofy is a relatable enough character? I sure think so.

Ahhh Goofy... now there's a great Disney character besides Mickey Mouse. His name even wants to make me laugh. It makes sence that most people can realate to him because we all have a little Goofy inside of us. I really don't know why I just think it makes sence. I meam Goofy sounds a lot like me sometime what with being clumsy and all but in a funny way.

Goofy rocks! ^_^ I love Goofy!

Although I will truthfully say, and it's a fact, I can relate to both Donald and Goofy. I show my Goofy personality most of the time (somtimes shy, friendly and very clumsy), but my Donald personality comes out a lot too (i.e. when I'm at work in the copy room or when I can't beat a certain stage in a video game). 8)

Goofy of course

with no worries, he live the life as it cames, not plans or anything, also he´s very lucky.

From the "Disney first familly" I choose this, but from all, I choose Bambi

One thing the article doesn't make clear is whether the people polled were asked choose from the fab five (or spectacular six, if you include Daisy), or any Disney character, period. If we're going by the Fab Five/Spectacular Six, then Mickey is the character I most relate to. If we're talking Disney characters, period, then I'm an odd mix of the Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh, and Belle.

goofy rox-hes so loveable!!!!
But in my own personal opinion, besides Mickey Mouse being my fav of the fab five & crew, my second favs would be Chip n' Dale & Daisy above Goofy.

I relate to Goofy more than any other Disney character, although I can do a clean imitation of Donald Duck that would make Clarence Nash smile.

My favorite cartoon of Goofy's is "Motor Mania" and a close second is "How to Water Ski".

Goofy is so loveable and I agree with a lot of the others.........GOOFY ROCKS!!

Lol that is indeed a odd mixture! Hmm so your a bit Mad, you Love Hunny and are stunningly beautiful and sweet? Actually, now that I think about it I may very well be a mix of the 3 as well... especially the Belle part <wink>

I definetely relate to Goofy the most. He's been my favorite character since I was 3, and will continue to be for the rest of my life.

My girlfriend finds my choice of favorite characters incredibly funny because I always love the goofy characters.

As a bit of a taster of my favorite characters:
Goofy
Dopey (from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
Kronk (from Emperor's New Groove)
Genie (from Aladdin)
Mushu (from Mulan)
Zazu (from The Lion King)
The Mad Hatter and the March Hare (From Alice in Wonderland)
Gurgi (from The Black Cauldron)

Anybody else see a pattern? lol

I resent that.
