^ Because it's a movie about mostly retro based video games and the 8- Bit Disney logo is fitting towards the movie.

TheValentineBros wrote:What's wrong with that, anyway? I actually love the 2006 Walt Disney Pictures logo, even in 2011, when in theatrical releases starting with The Muppets, it was changed to just Disney.
Like I wrote, they've been using it every single time since 2006. There's nothing wrong with the logo, but I'm just tired of it. It would be nice with a change.

Though there have been the rare variation, like what they did with the logo in Tron Legacy.

Oh yeah, and even in shitty Disney films like The Santa Clause 3, High School Musical 3, and Mars Needs Moms. Yeah, they are shitty movies, BUT, the 2006 logo in these films have variations. Even in good films like Enchanted where we zoom into the castle.

I'm assuming the logo at Frankenweenie's going to also get a makeover of sorts not only based on how they were in the trailers but also the first musical piece on the soundtrack.

For Frankenweenie, the logo actually starts normally, until...Lightning strikes and it instantly turns black-and-white. I thought it was a neat idea, kind of a way to ease modern audiences into the look of the film (and also others don't think the projector is broken or something)

Yeah, we saw that in the first trailer. helps for the particularly unversed people who get it on home video.

Oh, that's nice

I never saw the new Tron flick, but it's nice that Disney could have done an exception for once. It reminds of the variations Disney made between 2000 and 2005.

I like that they are doing a variation for this movie because I think its that unique for a Disney movie.
I mean Disney sometimes likes to step outside their comfort zones and strength into territories normally occupied by other studios like Pixar and Dreamworks.
I mean I have a feeling that people would mistake Wreck It Ralph for a Pixar or even Dreamworks movie if it didn't have the Disney logo on it.
Thats why I kinda of say that this year Pixar did a Disney movie this year while Disney is doing a Pixar movie this year.It seems like they traded places with each other to see how they could handle each other's formula.

People mistake Disney CGI for Pixar regardless of logo.

The biggest issue with Mars Needs Mom was the animation medium used to tell the story. Had it been in live action or just plain 'ol regular CG, it would have been a decent to solid movie. But the mocap was so distracting it pulled people away from the narrative, which was actually pretty good.
