Looks nice, but the actual Lotso is a nice, round shape. The costume makes him look like a pear :p .

I find it weird how Pixar is heavily marketing Lotso even though he is essentially the villain of the movie.

Maybe Lotso is the Villain...but by the end of the movie....he has a change of heart because of Woody perhaps??? i'm just guessing I have no clue what will happen in terms if Lotso will be a main villain or just someone who thinks what they are doing are right...

But....I do know this for sure

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!! HURRY UP JUNE 18TH :buzz: lgm   :stitch: :buzz: lgm :eye: :edna: :buzz: :nemo:

anyone notice how woody is getting a facelift or sort? he looks a tad different and rosy in this movie, and like he's got botox.

How come to me the animation seems...less real...looking than Toy Story 1 and 2? (For lack of a better description.)

exactly..something is especially off with woody.

The last sentence has almost a minor, minor spoiler, so if you really are avoiding any and all spoilers, I guess don't read the last sentence...?

Every character is technically different, they don't reuse character models from movie to movie. They were all re made from scratch. They now have a greater level of control over their facial expressions, among other things.

I dont see it as being "off" or less real. they never tried to be realistic in the first place.

The new art of toy story 3 book details some of what Woody's changes entailed.

Wow, that's great, I love the extra detail! Take you for posting. I'll get my Art of Toy Story 3 in the mail soon, hope it's interesting & pretty! Does it spoil the movie much?

Toy Story 3 rated G by the MPAA

Yeah, that's not surprising and pretty much to be expected, if it has the feel of the first two.

That said, I thought Up was still G-worthy, as I found the G-rated Finding Nemo to be a tad more intense. Though, I doubt the MPAA compares Pixar's other films when compiling their ratings.

I don't own it yet, that picture isn't mine. but yes, I hear it does spoil it. it pretty much tells you everything, so don't get it until after you've seen the movie.

It's interesting to see the changes made to Woody. Considering how long ago TS2 was made, it is definitely for the better, he needed an upgrade. But I could have sworn that they said on the TS2 DVD that they were able to re-use the models from the original...?

Can you tell me where in the commentary exactly?

As I remember it, they only re used things like props. The characters in Toy Story 2 were actually recreated using NURBS (getting a bit geeky here, but you can google the term if you like), giving them more flexibility than in the original.

Oh, I'm not sure. I don't think it was during the commentary. Maybe it actually might have been in "The Pixar Story" on the WALL-E DVD? Or maybe I'm just imagining it, anyway.... But I could have sworn they were the same.... Oh, well. But yes, they were definitely better-animated.

Forgive me for being lazy and not searching the thread, but has anything been said about why Buzz is smiling in his frozen toy state in #3 when he clearly did not in #1 and 2?

How, great attention to detail! Now you have me thinking and wondering the same thing...

I am sure they will explain it in the third film. Maybe he just wanted to leave the franchise happy! Ha-Ha.

Technically, there are some differences, but are the same poses. TS3 Buzz has a wider smile, while TS1 Buzz's face is more serious and heroic. Also, let's remember that the screen is taken from the scene in which the little girl slobbers all over him, so the shot is meant to be surprising and silly.

Yeah, I <3 the detail, but I hope it isnt distracting.
