Um, WOW!!!

That trailer is great! I was excited to see this before, but now I can't wait! I'm glad we got a little peak into some singing and animation in particular.

The soundtrack is already available to pre-save. I guess it's a digital release only. However, Hocus Pocus 2's soundtrack will get a CD version too on November 11, some weeks after the digital release, so I guess a physical album for Disenchanted is still possible as well. Here's the cover:



A couple of new stills have also been released. The caption for the first one reveals Pip will be voiced by Griffin Newman this time, replacing Jeff Bennett and Kevin Lima who voiced the hand-drawn and live-action (CG) versions of the character, respectively.

Me too! The song must be the Idina Menzel and James Marsden duo we heard about. As for the animation, I hope that 2D Disney castle logo is used in the film itself. The other hand-drawn shot looks like an animated version of Monroeville, the small town Giselle and her family move to, right? I wonder if it gets transformed into an animated world at the end. Though I guess, it could also be Andalasia. The trailer also gave us our first look at Morgan's love interest and Malvina's son, played be Kolton Stewart.

I think it's Andalasia. The same bird flying through the shot with the castle, also flies through the shot with the town.

This looks so good. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high but it looks spectacular.

Amy as a villain is going to be just terrific.

I guess you're right. The town square and the tower made me think of Monroeville, but looking at the shot again, I see there are lots of differences between both places. If it was an animated version of the town, I think they would've made it look more similar to it.

By the way, I forgot to mention the new trailer confirms the wishing wand is a present from Edward and Nancy. I noticed there's a scroll next to it in the case. I guess the character who warns Giselle about the consequences of her wish is probably the scroll come to life. Maybe it's like the wand's instruction book. I was also surprised Pip turns into a cat. I guess since he's Giselle's sidekick and she transforms into an evil stepmother, he has to turn into a version of Lucifer from Cinderella.

And could the mover on the left below be the same actor as the one on the right from the first film? Maybe it's not, but it looks a bit like him.



I noticed more things, but I'm not going to say them not to spoil anything else. Oh, and I was wrong Kolton Stewart's character was introduced in this trailer; I've now noticed he already appeared in the first one in a couple of shots.

That's quite high! It'll be interesting to see how it performs compared to Hocus Pocus 2. Maybe it doesn't break any records like that sequel did, but I think it should do quite well. Interestingly, Slumberland, which is also on that list, opens on Netflix the same day as Disenchanted. That's a family film too, based on Little Nemo in Slumberland. I hadn't heard of it before, but I've now watched the trailer and it doesn't look bad. However, I don't think it'll be much of a threat to the Disney film.

I had almost forgotten how it felt to watch a trailer for an upcoming Disney movie and feel genuine excitement for it. This should have been a theatrical release. It's such a waste to dump it on Disney+.

It's good to know in order to manage expectations. I can't say I trust TheDisinsider much nowadays, though, and I don't know the other source. If they're right, I hope the reshoots managed to improve the movie.

That's especially true for Hocus Pocus 2 which is currently sporting a rotten 51% audience score. Can such a vast discrepancy between test audiences and the general public really exist, or was it a case of misreporting?

I highly doubt the test screening accurately reflects the quality of the film. There’s a big difference between what’s good and what the average Joe enjoys.

Rescue Rangers is a perfect example.

There's also the now classic tale of how audiences grew restless during "Part of Your World" in a test screening of TLM. You can't fully trust a test screening audience...

Well, when I was at D23, people really clapped and cheered with Halle Bailey's rendition of that number, so I wouldn't say that is true.

Except Rescue Rangers was a great movie, was well-received by critics and audiences, and won the Emmy Award for Outstanding TV Movie.
