Given how much the U.S has had over just about the rest of the world since Disney have been making home videos (for a start, consider the collectors editions/steebooks of the Platinum editions, and the Snow White collectors box...) I think its great things have gone our way this year. And why not? You guys have always had it better

PRESS RELEASE:

Disney's Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 can finally dance their way out of the Blu-ray rumor lists and into the officially confirmed and dated pile.
Disney Home Entertainment has revealed plans to release Fantasia, Fantasia 2000 and the animated short Destino in a four-disc special edition movie collection on November 30. Like many Disney classics, It will be available for a limited time and then removed from store shelves.

Both Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 on Blu-ray will be presented in digitally remastered 1080p video (their original aspect ratios) and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio on separate discs. The third and fourth discs in the set are DVD versions of the film and limited redundant bonus features.

Can't say I'm a fan of that cover. It looks too busy, and the font is a patch on the original.

I actually think "busy" works for Fantasia. After all, it IS a "busy" movie. IMO, they should've thrown Chernabog on there.

Is it just me or is that just the Fantasia artwork pasted on top of the BATB cover? I think I can see the ballroom down the left side where the border meets the image...

I'm disappointed that it looks like Destino is the only additional short we're getting. But it could be the rest are accessable through BD-Live.

You're quite right. Maybe it's just temporary? Afterall, its a very large image so it must have come from Disney themselves.

I don't think I've ever said anywhere that I am glad the U.S. has gotten something the rest of the world didn't. I don't want more or better, I want the same. That is all. I don't think it's too much to ask, considering Disney is an American company...

They could've put the unedited version of that segment as a bonus feature with Leonard Maltin putting in context. Oh yeah, I forgot, the kids just loooove those bonus features! Can't get enough of them! So that couldn't be the sollution.

I wish the covers were a little more "elite" as they do look a tad like "children's films" with those covers, maybe time has finally "caught up" with it?

Ah well, who cares, as long as Fantasia is coming to Blu-Ray(and with Blu-Ray Live, with all the same bonus features ).

I love the official cover!

Its not so much time catching up, but rather Disney's attempt at extending the market of the film. Just like most of their other covers, they want them to appeal to everyone, so they make them bright, bold and enticing to kids, whilst having the important information (such as the ridiculously large 'Double Play') clear for parents.

I'm just happy that now I know it's officially coming to the states!

There isn't a Walt Disney's "Fantasia" only edition? Are they kidding?

Will any of the foreign "Fantasia"-only releases be open region so we can import just Walt's classic movie alone?

Will there be a Mexico "Fantasia" only release like "Dumbo" -- good for region 1?

Like I said, I am really happy. People complain about stupid things. No the cover looks like this, the cover looks like that! We are buying a classic, on Blu-Ray! The vivid colors should truly come out! 2in1 better! It's coming this year, and it is coming to the good U S of A! If people are complaining about the cover, I have a question for you...are you buying the movie, or the cover? Oh yeah the cover wont even be seen when putting in your collection the spine is...........

Region A includes most North, Central and South American and Southeast Asian countries plus Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.

Region B includes most European, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.

Region C contains the remaining central and south Asian countries, as well as China and Russia.

You may also like to know that the region code is no longer verified by the optical drive's firmware, like DVDs, but rather the player's software.

That Schultheiss notebook isn't "newly discovered", either. They show parts of it and talk about it on the old Fantasia anthology set from 10 years ago.
