I doubt it's the Cheeta Girls song. It says Jennifer Lewis (Mama Odie's voice actress) next to "Dig a Little Deeper", so I'm going to assume it's the song featured in the film.

Yeah, you must be right, but that was the first thought that had popped into my head.

Well, there are 7 score tracks, which I think is pretty on par with the Disney Renassiance films' soundtracks. And Ne-Yo is an R&B singer:

Here's the video to his first single, "So Sick":

Ugh, yeah. I agree that the Ne-Yo track isn't be the first track. I don't see why they chose him anyway. I would have loved if Anika song a pop version of one of the songs also.

Well, at least it isn't a Disney Channel star, such as Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers singing the song.

I'm sure they will in the next Disneymania CD! LOL

LOL had be an "exclusive" for BET.
This is already becoming to act like a "black pride" movie. That channel sucks anyway.

Loving the music. Sounds like Newman nailed it. I love "When We're Human", it has an awesome Jungle Book/Aristocats vibe.
The Ne-Yo song ain't half bad either. Could have been far worse for an R&B/pop track. It'll do well in the charts and only help create extra buzz for the film. And it is very suitable for the credits.

Thank you sooo much, PrinceAbubu! I'm listening now.
They totally could've hired Corbin Bleu to sing Ne-Yo's song...it's his style. And Corbin would've been cheaper for Disney, since he's already an employee.
And I would've been happier.
Sounds better than some of the other pop songs, such as "Where the Dream Takes You" from
Atlantis. I approve!
For "Down In New Orleans" (Prologue), is that the whole song? Just like
we heard in the first 5 mins. clip?
I love "Down In New Orleans"! I'm so glad that it's Dr. John and not Randy Newman singing!
"Almost There" =
<3
I like "Friends on the Other Side", though not as much as the other songs so far, but I can't wait to hear the whole song. I think that that'll be a song that will be even better once seen in context in the film.
Oh, Terrance Simien is a musician. That makes sense...I'm assuming that he's famous, since he's listed.
"When We're Human" sounds fun!
Wow, Ray sings a lot better than I was expecting!
"Ma Belle Evangeline" also =
<3
"Dig a Little Deeper" sounds great. I had been curious for a while as to how a Randy Newman gospel song sounds!
"Down In New Orleans" (Finale) is even better than the original version of the song, IMO. I love Tiana's voice!!!
I"M SO EXCITED! This gon' be good!!!

I had my doubts about PatF's music, but these snippets sound fantastic. Thanks for posting, Prince Abubu!

MOOKY!!! Thank you! Words cannot describe how much I am loving that song!
I still wish Corbin sung it, though. I don't know if Disney even ever thought of that, or how their process worked, but maybe they didn't want a Disney star attached to the proejct at all, to give it more credibility or something...

I've never really cared for Ne-yo, but I guess the song's alright.
I think I'm just a little upset that there isn't a nice ballad. I understand that the music is supposed to reflect jazz, but it feels like a lot of the songs have the same beat and move the same way. I can see why some people would say it's not anything too memorable. With that said however, I do really like some of the songs and am very excited to see them on screen. I just would've like a tiny bit of variety as well.

Nothing spectacular [reference to soundtrack samples] but very appropriate. I want to see the images that go with these songs, as these low quality samples probably don't do it justice. Right now they just feel like a less catchy version of the Cat's Don't Dance soundtrack (which I like), but I'm sure in context, on the big screen, with the animation and at the full runtime these will give me a better impression.
BTW, is anyone else getting a Sebastion feeling with Ray?

oh man, I'm trying NOT to listen to the songs before I see the movie this time....

but it's hard. I guess I can listen to clips of the songs I've already heard... like Almost There and Friends on the Other Side.
We'll see how I hold out...
