It includes a metal lunchbox like "Bambi" did, if that's what you're wondering. Nothing else new aside from that.

Who's George Lucas?

He's the creator of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. The reference above is in reaction to how George infamously re-released the original trilogy of Star Wars with "updates" that fixed scenes he wasn't happy with in their prior releases. Many fans of the originals felt alienated as a result.
In a response to the original quote, I think by releasing it in 3D they technically already have. lol

Does anyone know if I can use the Subway coupon, and the printed coupon at Best Buy, or any store?

I just noticed the picture of the diamond on the Diamond Edition releases. In case you don't know what a diamond is. Why didn't the Platinum Editions have pictures of platinum?

Not as bad as I thought. I like that the discs are protected (even though they fall out easily), much better than the TRON set from this spring that had the discs stacked loose on top of each other.

That 8-disc set looks incredibly cheap :/
The dutch cover looks nice. I liked color on the top other than grey or blue. The gold looks nice!

The packaging is better than the Toy Story set. Individual cases would be preferable, but this works. I think I'll bite.

I would've freaked out if it was actually my set...the video by itself just showcases the poor packaging (though it's a slight improvement over past ones that they've churned out). I'm passing on the trilogy and just getting the combo pack of The Lion King. I'll wait to see if/when the others surface individually.

Hahaha YES I got a did freak out. Dropping stuff scares me anyway, let alone something as precious as a Disney Blu-ray!

Kace, we're get'tin seperate release of Simba's Pride/ 1.5 in Spring 2012
I'm amazed at medicore packaging, my heart nearly skipped a beat when he just dumped the discs *ugh* even the Brady Bunch's Complete Series Discs were housed like LK's 8 Discs and they hardly slipped out easily
I'm get'tin the Trio set to save shelf space, placin all 3 LK blu rays in one 3 disc set case and the dvd verisons in the Iron Pack, I'll pick up another Iron Pack on Tues
In Good news, I went to SubWay after bowling and order a cold cut combo, got the coupon along with a special goody bag *hehe* they had a bag featurin, Scar/Hyenas, Shadow Outilnes of the cast against the saphire sky and Simba on Pride Rock. Those were the only bags my subway had, I thought the Simba/Circle Of Life bags were too obivous promo material so I went with Scar's Bag

they also stick the coupon in the bag too, I didn't say a word *haha*
Here's the vid that displays all the subway bags

I would much rather have a packaged together set of all 3 movies like they did a few years ago. I hate the drum idea (because, what does a drum have to do with The Lion King? Sure, it's set in Africa but there aren't any humans in the movie and no one uses a drum... stupid). Also, the storage for the discs simply pisses me off.
I'm definitely waiting for the sequels to come out on their own.

I saw the film in 3D this evening, so I can finally say I saw The Lion King in theaters! The 3D really didn't do anything (it was pretty much pointless), but the film was great as always. My only problem was that there was some little kid behind me talking all the time and the woman he was with thought it was a great idea to talk back to him all the time. I really wanted to ask her if she could control the child (I mean, I was trying to watch the film) but I decided not to. Overall it was great, but way too pricey for a process that didn't add anything to the film.

Ok I want that IronPack *haha* seriously though, I want it lol
I got $15 worth of Coupon, like I said, I got the online $5 coupon, put down a $7.50 pre-pay and got 2 $5 coupon from SubWay, could I use the SubWay Coupon for 8 disc set or just for the 3D/ 2 disc combo??
Hopefuly I can use all 3 coupons cause then I'd be payin $52.49 for the Trio.

Well, the $5 DMR coupon says that it cannot be combined with any other offer. I'm hoping this is overlooked at my local Best Buy, because I intend on using the DMR coupon with my Ironpack deduction. Then I'm also going to pick up BatB 3D with another $5 DMR coupon, and Best Buy has a deal going that if you buy both films there's an $8 discount. So I'm hoping to buy both sets for around $37 together.

Oooh excellent deal SingerGuy, like you I'm hopin the $5 coupon could be combined with the $7.50 and I might use the Subway Coupon for the 2 disc blu combo when I pick up my order.
Found out that Fred Meyers will have Lion King's 2 Disc Blu Combo for $20 and the Trio Set for $74/$60 (I think) the cashier wasn't sure bout the Trio Set price but she was firm with the Combo's price.
