Off-model and CGI blending are not the only problems there can be, I even mentioned them if you look back.

Anyway, you may be right with Lilo and Stitch 2, from what little I saw in previews, but even non Disney fans, generally people who would know better than to see something like Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel can tell the difference between DTV and theatrical animation. Even if they can't put their finger on it, they get the feeling. Not that it matters, Disney should always strive for the best even if only Disney themselves noticed it.

Anyways..... like I said in the "Kiss Before Dying" topic, the movie's now at $86.5 million domestically, earning $707,307 yesterday. It might not be much, but it's better than nothing. :)

Now, only to wait and see if it'll make it to its $105 million mark, if not a little more...

"Princess" has just been nominated for two NAACP Image Awards: Best Picture and Best Actress (Anika Noni Rose).

Scat Cat may have been Louis's predecessor!

Both are trumpet playing, Jazz loving animals :p .

While he's not a Disney character, I think King Gator from All Dog Go to Heaven could be Louie's predecessor. He lives under the streets of *gasp* New Orleans, the film's main setting, and loves music.

That isn't the Tiana and Her Princess Friends CD, is it? I've seen that at Wal-mart next to the Princess and the Frog film soundtrack. Also saw it at Target.

There's a slip inside the "Princess" soundtrack that says there will be a "Songs Inspired by 'The Princess and the Frog'" CD in addition to the "Tiana and Her Princess Friends" one. The slip indicated that it would be released in February, and would have songs for Tiana, Louis, and Ray. I haven't seen anything on the Internet about it yet, though.

Yes, this is the CD I'm referring to. :) oh it says Feb? For some reason I was thinking January. Oh well! I hope we get a release date soon!!! I don't think they've really done an album like that since "Songs From the Sea" for The Little Mermaid.

Oh, I've always loved that album! I've been curious about this new one as well. :)

So with weekend estimates, Princess and the Frog made $92,600,000, which is the second highest grossing traditionally animated movie for Disney in the 2000's, behind Lilo and Stitch and ahead of Emperor's New Groove. Still that's not higher than much of Disney's computer animated movies, but it's still pretty good!

I havnt yet seen the film, as I'm from the UK, but Ive been watching the previews and trailers obviously !

And I downloaded the soundtrack. Now, I dont know if that was a good idea or not .... but I have anyway, and have grown to like 'Almost There', 'Dig a Little Deeper' and 'Down in New Orleans'. But by no stretch does it match Alan Menken, and the 90's films. I know there shouldnt be a comparison between the two, but I really can't help it. Especially with it being Musker and Clements film.

Now, these songs are good. But not excellent, as I had hoped. Again, this is without viewing the film. How does the music stand out in the film ? Does it suit it ? Is it not as good as Menken ? I'd just like people's thoughts on this.

Thank you :)

I'm counting down the days till Feb 5th to see it though !

I would actually go as far to say TPatF is the best DAC since Beauty and the Beast.
